The next Blood Drive is scheduled for Nov. 23 from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Martin Luther Lutheran Church. RT-C School News 

The Round Top-Carmine Cubette volleyball team for defeating Utopia in Seguin to win the regional semifinal game on Nov. 11. The team defeated Goodrich in Huntsville to win area and also defeated Chester in Madionsville to win the regional quarterfinal game. The team was to have played McMullen County at Athens for regional on Nov. 15.

JV and varsity boys play at Snook on Nov. 18 at 5 p.m. Varsity boys host Bastrop Tribe on Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. and host Waelder on Nov. 24 at 11 a.m. JV and varsity boys play at Granger on Nov. 25 with the time to be determined.

Thanksgiving holidays are Nov. 24-28.

RT-C students spent the day exploring Texas A&M University’s Computer Science Department on Nov. 1. They got hands-on experience with cool tech demos, toured cutting-edge labs, and chatted with A&M faculty and students about many things related to computer science. Two of the students even won prizes with one receiving a water bottle and the other an iPad.

Bingo at the Carmine Hall Bingo at the Carmine Hall this month will be on Friday, Nov. 21. Doors open at 4 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. There will be twelve regular games and two cover-all games. Food and drinks will be available.

Lions Club Turkey Trot Round Top Lions Club is sponsoring its annual Turkey Trot run on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27 with a 10k at 8 a.m., 5k at 8:15 a.m. and a Fun Run at 8:30 a.m.

Ledbetter Lane of Lights The Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights begins the day after Thanksgiving from 68:30 p.m. It is on Friday and Saturday nights with the first night on Nov. 28.

Enjoy a hayride through a lighted path of Christmas reflections with your family. Hot chocolate, wassail, popcorn, and cookies will be served. Visit with Santa each night, along with music.

The dates are Nov. 28 and 29; Dec. 5 and 6; Dec. 12 and 13; and Dec. 19 and 20.

Admission is $10 per person and children two years and younger are free. Cash or checks are accepted.

Proceeds benefit the Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department. For more information, call (979) 540-0105.

Carmine Christmas Fest 

The 41st annual Carmine Christmas Fest is on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Food will be served from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The RT-C elementary musical begins at 1:30 p.m.

Christmas Craft Market 

The Ledbetter community Christmas Craft Market will be held on Dec. 7 from 9 a.m.3 p.m. at the Ledbetter Hall. It is located one block off Hwy 290 at 301 West Labadie St.

Christmas lighting Contest 

Decorate your homes and businesses this Christmas for the annual Christmas lighting contest, sponsored by the Carmine Chamber of Commerce. The judging team will make their selections either Dec. 19 or 20. Anyone who would like to be judged is asked to have their lights on for those nights from dusk to 9:30 p.m.

MLLC News 

Worship service at Martin Luther Lutheran Church is on Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Bonnie Parker serving as the guest pastor. Sunday School Christmas program practice begins at 8:30 a.m.

The Rev. Ken Weiss will serve as the guest pastor on Nov. 23.

Sympathy Extended 

Sympathy is extended to the family of Jerry Dean Jacob who passed away on Oct. 30. He wore many hats in Carmine and the surrounding area. He was the first mayor of Carmine, worked in Jacob’s Store/ Jake’s Eggs and purchased Carmine Feed and Fertilizer in 1981. He was also active in many organizations and helped bring the Carmine City Park into being, just to name a few. Funeral service was at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine on Nov. 4 with burial at the Carmine Cemetery.

Carmine 42 Club 

The Carmine 42 Club met on Nov. 5 at JW’s Steakhouse. After a delicious lunch, eight intriguing games of 42 were played. High-scoring partners were Edith Flinn and LaVerne Albers with a score of 1817 and they played four hands of 84. Very close behind, with a score of 1813, were Myrt Meinkowsky and Jeanette Schoenst. They played one hand of 84. Avalda Pohl and Marlene Waak played two hands of 84. Carol Jenkins and Linda Mattocks played two hands of 84 and one hand of 126. Everyone enjoyed the challenging domino games and fellowship. They will play again on Dec. 3 at Windmill Ranch Lodge with a Christmas ornament exchange.

MLLC News 

Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Martin Luther Lutheran Church Sunday School Christmas program practice is Sunday at 8:30 a.m.

Worship service with Holy Communion, observing Christ the King Sunday, is at 10 a.m. The Rev. Ken Weiss will serve as the guest pastor.

The Blood Drive is Sunday from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
