Methamphetamines, Hydro Marijuana Confiscated During Traffic Stop Friday

Fayette County K9 Kolt located six kilos of methamphetamines and one pound of hydro marijuana during a traffic stop Friday on I-10.

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Friday morning, April 2 at around 10 a.m. drug interdiction Sgt. Randy Thumann and his canine Kolt conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Lexus on I-10 westbound at the 661 mile marker for a traffic violation.

“The driver had no driver’s license and exhibited nervous behavior,” the Sheriff’s report stated. The report said consent to search the vehicle was given and three occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle. Thumann located a speaker in the trunk of the vehicle which was loaded with six kilos of methamphetamine and one pound of marijuana with a total street value of $304,000. The driver admitted the drugs were his and 25-year-old Alexander William Gil of San Antonio was arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. The other occupants were released from the scene.
