Martin Running for County Judge
My name is Pastor Will Martin and I am running for the office of Fayette County Judge. To be clear, I am not intending to run against anybody. My plan is to run for something. The freedoms we love so dear have been taken from the American people. Perhaps a greater concern, there have been no local voices reminding our people of the foundations of our freedom. Sure, people talk about Freedom all the time. But, time and again, they fail to grasp where those freedoms come from. You cannot hang a chandelier from the clouds. Nor can you have freedom without a foundation.
I am running for Fayette County Judge because freedom comes from somewhere. Better said, freedom comes from Someone. If we would be a free people we must return again to that foundation of self-evident truth “…that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness (which means property)…” If we would be free, we must return to that Creator who endowed men with “rights” that no other men, be they private citizens or those in government, have the right to take away.
As a Christian, I believe that Jesus is Lord of heaven and earth; which includes being Lord of Fayette County. He is the foundation of our freedom. In His goodness, He has established three institutions to protect the freedoms He has given to men. Those institutions are the family, the Church, and the Civil Government. As a Christian Libertarian I believe that violence done to the rights or property of others is an evil that must not be tolerated by free people and that it falls to these three institutions to ensure and protect the freedom of our neighbors from such evil.
By His grace, I currently serve my family, I currently serve in the Church, and I am praying that, should the Lord see fit to give me your vote, He would bless the people of Fayette County through the service I would bring as Fayette County Judge. Freedom has been given to us by God…if those in power don’t like that fact, then let them “Come And Take It” for the Lord is our Refuge and Strength; our very present help in time of trouble.
