Martin Luther Lutheran Church WELCA Hosting Turkey & Dressing Meal Sunday
Martin Luther Lutheran Church Women of the ELCA turkey and dressing meal is on Sunday, Nov. 14 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Drive thru only meal will be served at the Mission & Ministry Building. The $12 tickets must be purchased in advance. Call to see if tickets are still available at the MLLC office or Leonita Sanders.

Round Top-Carmine High School volleyball team played Prairie Lea at Flatonia on Nov. 4 in the first round of playoffs.
Thanksgiving holidays will be Nov. 22-26.
Carmine VFD
Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Meeting Night is Nov. 11 at 7 p.m.
Since we returned to Standard Time Nov. 7, this is a good time to check your smoke detector batteries.
Carmine Lions Club
The Carmine Lions Club meets Tuesday, Nov. 9 at JW’s Steakhouse. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the meal.
The Club is working with the Burton ISD to provide eyeglasses for students in need of glasses. Also, there is a collection box at the Carmine State Bank for eyeglasses or they can be brought to any meeting.
A food drive will be held during the month of November for the benefit of the A.M.E.N. Food Pantry in La Grange. Donations can be brought to the November meeting or taken to the Carmine State Bank and placed in the collection box.
There will also be a collection of toys for the Deputy Santa Program in Fayette County dur-ing the month of December. A box will be placed at Carmine State Bank at that time.
Men in Mission
The Men in Mission group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church will collect items for Seafarer’s at the Port of Houston.
They may be brought to the church office until Nov. 29, when they will be packed at 1 p.m. The date and time have been changed from what was previously announced.
Items include address books, fabric band-aids, baseball caps, 2022 calendars, comb, dental floss, antiperspirant/deodorant, disposable razors, flashlight and batteries, small packs Kleenex, lip balm, lotion, nail clippers, Gold Bond cream, Gold Bond powder, individual servings of hot chocolate, needles and thread, Q-tips, shaving cream, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, gum and hard candy, key chains, pocket-sized notebooks, mechanical pencils, pens, playing cards, individual microwave popcorn packages, socks, Sudoku books, Texas souvenirs, T-shirts, SUB flash drives, and Word Search books.
Keep in mind that most of the seafarers are men.

Rebekah Group meets Thursday at 2 p.m.
Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School Christmas program practice is Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday worship with Holy Communion is at 10 a.m. The Women of the ELCA will conduct their Thankoffering service. Praise Team leads songs. Veterans will be recognized. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Domino Party is Monday at 1 p.m.
Ledbetter Lane of Lights
Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights begins the day after Thanksgiving. It will be held every Friday and Saturday until Dec. 18 from 6-9 p.m. Enjoy a hayride through a lighted path of Christmas reflections.
Tickets are $10 per person and children two years and under are free. Live musical entertainment and Santa will be there each night. Location is FM 1291 at Highway 290.

Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
