Martin Luther Lutheran Church Hosting Blood Drive May 23
The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is sponsoring a Blood Drive at Martin Luther Lutheran Church this Sunday, May 23 from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Appointments are required and you may contact khardin@giveblood.org to schedule one. It is in conjunction with Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top.
RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine High School baseball team won district in 1A and received byes in the first two rounds of playoffs. Watch for more details.
The Senior Academic Banquet will be held on May 18 after the school day. Guests will be limited and will need a ticket. It will be livestreamed for parents and community members to view.
Go to the RTC website to view summer opportunities which include a band program, basketball camp, cheer camp, junior and senior Beta Club service days, open gym, events at Round Top Family Library, strength and conditioning, and volleyball camp.
Carmine VFD
Carmine Volunteer Fire Department regular meeting is May 27.
They are planning their annual Feast and Fundraiser on July 18 with a drive-thru fried chicken meal.
Carmine 42 Club
The Carmine 42 Club met Wednesday, May 6 to play eight challenging games of 42 after eating a delicious lunch at JW’s Steakhouse.
The high scoring partners were LaVerne Albers and Marlene Waak with a score of 2066. Second place partners were Jeanette Schoenst and Midge Cloyd with a score of 1932. Other partners were Donna Mueller and Carol Naegeli who played 2 hands of 84. Additional partners were Linda Mattocks and Edith Flinn.
Everyone enjoyed the friendly competition and look forward to the next game day in June.
Ledbetter Homecoming
Ledbetter Homecoming is scheduled for Sunday, June 13 at Ledbetter Firemen’s Park. A drive-thru fried fish dinner will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tickets are pre-sale only and are available from Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department members, at Carmine State Bank, and at Round Top State Bank in both Round Top and Giddings. A bake sale will benefit the Ledbetter Homemakers’ Club.
Carmine Night Out
Mark your calendars for October 7 when Carmine Night Out will be held. This is the first Thursday in October due to the permanent change of dates for the fall antiques fair.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion, observing the Vigil of Pentecost is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.

Combined Family Reunions
The Eichler and Kieke families have decided to combine their reunions to preserve their heritage. It will be held on Sunday, June 6 at 11 a.m. at the La Bahia Hall with a noon catered meal. Drinks will be provided. Attendees may bring a salad or dessert to share. RSVP by calling (979) 451-1507 or (979) 451-1462.

Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
They kindly ask that you please wait to drop off items when they are open. It is very helpful to have the recycled items separated.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
