Man Arrested for Unlawful Possession Of A Firearm By A Felon
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Saturday morning around 2:30 a.m. Deputy Seth Nagel conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 gray Chevrolet passenger car for a traffic violation.
Deputy Nagel detected a strong odor of Marijuana as he made contact with the driver. The driver advised she did not have a Texas driver’s license and admitted they just smoked Marijuana.
The vehicle was occupied with two passengers. A probable cause search was conducted and a bottle of Promethazine, a baggie containing a crystal type substance, and a .380 Smith & Wesson handgun was located.
The passenger, 30-year-old Nelson Uche Aniche admitted the items belonged to him and he was arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center where he was charged with Possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
The other occupants were released awaiting a licensed driver.
