Local Offices Coming Up For Election in 2026

Many important local political offices will be up for election next year, and the candidate filing period is less than a month away.

The following offices are up for election in 2026; current office holders are listed as well:

• District Judge – Jeff Steinhauser

• County Judge – Dan Mueller

• District Clerk – Linda Svrcek

• County Clerk – Brenda Fietsam

• County Commissioner Pct. 2 – Clint Sternadel

• County Commissioner Pct. 4 – Drew Brossmann

• Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 – Kyle Hartmann

• Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 – Jamie Moreau

• Justice of the Peace Pct. 3 – Charles Zapalac

• Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 – Paul Zapalac

• Republican Party Chair – Michael Schlabach

• Democratic Party Chair – Mary Wolf The period for candidates to file for a place on the ballot runs from Nov. 8 to Dec. 8. Republican and Democratic candidates must file applications with their respective party chairs.

The party primary elections take place on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The general election takes place on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
