Local Active COVID Cases Climb to 242

The active number of local COVID cases continues to climb rapidly.

As of Sunday there were 242 active cases of COVID in Fayette County, roughly triple the number of cases from just one week before.

Local schools resumed classes last week from the winter break, and there have been a number of cases cropping up there as well. La Grange ISD reported 19 positive students cases and four positive staff cases last week.

The number of fatalities from COVID since the start of the pandemic in Fayette County has not changed in the last few weeks. It remains at 95.
