Littrell Appointed To LG City Council

The La Grange City Council appointed Dusty Littrell to fill the empty seat on the Council for Ward 3. Jan Dockery vacated that seat last month when she won the election for mayor.

Council had solicited applications for vacant spot. Three people applied: Littrell, Agnes Hannes and Lambert Heintschel. The Council met in executive session on Monday night, June 14, to discuss the appointment. The Council deliberated for about 20 minutes behind closed doors before returning to open session where they made the appointment.

Littrell previously ran for Council in 2019, a race he lost to Dockery.

The City Council will vote to fill another vacant seat at the July 12 meeting. Pat Janca previously announced that he was moving outside the City Limits and would step down from his Ward 4 seat. Janca’s last official day on the Council was Tuesday, June 15.

City Hall is accepting applications for appointment to the Ward 4 seat. The deadline to apply is this Friday, June 18, at 5 p.m.
