Linckes Turn Old Hallmark Displays Into Fair Upgrades

The Fayette County Fair Association recognized Gale and Gary Lincke for donating display shelving and other items from their old Heritage Hallmark Store in La Grange, which closed last year. The Fayette County Fair Association recognized Gary and Gale Lincke for donating display shelving and other items to the Fair’s creative arts exhibit hall. The items came from the Linckes’ old Hallmark Store on the Square in La Grange, which closed last year.

When the store closed, the Linckes needed somewhere to go with all the store’s display shelving. They were about to throw it all away when Glenna Laffey, who organizes the creative arts exhibit, heard about their predicament and came up with an idea to use it in exhibit hall.

Gale Lincke said that Fair Association president Michael Zuhn showed up about three minutes after getting the call.

“An army of Fair volunteers came in and took every bit of what we had in the store,” she said.

“My back thanks the Fair board,” Gary Lincke joked.

“It’s a wonderful use for all of our old stuff,” Gale said.

The Fair Association honored the Linckes during the awards ceremony for the creative arts show Thursday afternoon at the Fair.

Zuhn thanked the Linckes for the donation.
