LGPD Responds to Report of Drag Racing
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department resonded to during the week of April 11-18.
Reckless Driving
On April 15, Meinardus responded to the 300 block of E. Eblin where caller stated that cars were drag racing up and down the street. Officer checked the area but did not locate any vehicles.
Animal Complaint
On April 13, Animal Control Officer Dean Ahlschlager checked on bees at 10 Bluffview and advised complainant he will call the bee man.
On April 13, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a large dog in the 300 block of E. Crockett and officer returned the dog back to owner.
On April 14, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 400 block of W. Colorado where caller stated that there were dogs running loose in her yard. Officer arrived and dogs were back with their owner.
On April 14, Ahlschlager followed up on a cat bite in the 100 block of E. Crockett. Cat had all rabies vaccines and boosters per the vet.
On April 15, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 1400 block of W. Highway 71 Business where caller stated that a neighbor’s dog came on her property. Officer spoke to dog’s owner and advised him to try to keep dog off neighbor’s property.
Accident
On April 15, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of FM 609 for a traffic accident. Officer took information.
Agency Assist
On April 12, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr blocked traffic around the 200 block of S. Jackson during a gas leak.
On April 16, Meinardus responded to the 1400 block of W. State Highway 71 Business where caller stated she had taken narcotics and believed she had overdosed. Officer contacted EMS who transported subject to the hospital. No narcotics were found at the location.
Civil Matter
On April 11, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell spoke to a subject in the 500 block of W. Lowerline in regard to a civil matter.
On April 13, Zwhar spoke to a subject in the 300 block of Northpointe in regard to a civil matter.
On April 17, Mohr received a call in reference to a civil matter in the 500 block of W. Lowerline.
Citizen Assist
On April 13, Zwahr responded to a call of possible vandalism in the 600 block of E. Pearl.
On April 15, Meinardus responded to the 1400 block of W. State Highway 71 Business where caller stated that she needed the police to help her and then hung up. Upon Officers arrival individual advised they were not feeling well and EMS was called to the location and checked on the subject. Subject refused to go to the hospital.
On April 15, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of Charles in regard to a citizen assist.
Disturbance
On April 13, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of S. Ellinger for a disturbance.
On April 13, Zwahr responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of N. Vail.
On April 17, Currington was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Fannin for a family violence disturbance. Officer arrived and took information and one arrest was made.
On April 18, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call in regard to a disturbance in the 500 block of W. Lowerline.
Harassment
On April 11, Meinardus responded to the 700 block of W. Colorado where caller stated that the father of the child she adopted six years ago began calling and asking to see the child. Officer advised to inform the subject if he contacted her again to tell him to cease contacting her. Officer took information.
On April 14, Maxwell spoke to subject in the 200 block of S. Lester about harassment.
On April 14, Investigator Troy Stevens responded to the 300 block of Northpointe where complainant had been receiving harassing text and phone calls.
Lost Property
On April 12, Zwahr responded to the 200 block of E. Travis in regard to lost property.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On April 13, Zwahr responded to the 1400 block of W. Travis for a subject that was on the phone.
On April 14, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Pearl in regard to two suspicious subjects. Officer arrived and spoke with the subjects and they left after speaking with the officer.
On April 16, Mohr received a call of a suspicious person in the 400 block of E. Travis. Officer made contact and the person was advised to leave the property.
On April 16, Zwahr responded to the 100 block of N. Main for a suspicious person at the location. The subject was transported by EMS to the hospital.
On April 16, Currington was dispatched to the 2000 block of Highway 71 W to a subject in a vehicle. The officer spoke with subject and the individual was resting.
On April 18, Mohr initiated a business check in the 1600 block of W. State Highway 71 Business and found a vehicle open and running and notified business owner and secured the vehicle.
Welfare Check
On April 14, Meinadus responded to the 1000 block of Sunset Lane where caller stated that he was unable to contact the subject for several days and wanted an officer to check on her. Officer checked on subject who stated she was fine.
Miscellaneous
On April 14, Wostarek was dispatched to the 900 block of E. Pearl in regard to hanging power lines. Officer searched the area and did not locate any low hanging power lines.
On April 15, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Water in regard to an abandoned vehicle.
On April 16, Zwahr responded to criminal mischief in the 600 block of E. Colorado.
On April 16, Mohr received a call of an alarm in the 200 block of N. Main. The building was secure.
On April 17, Mohr received a call of a party in the 200 block of E. Walnut. Officer arrived and the party had dispersed.
