LGPD Responds to DWI Accident, Burglary of a Building
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 20-27.
Driving While Intoxicated
On June 25, Wostarek was dispatched to the 600 block of N. Horton in regard to a traffic accident. Officer arrived on location and spoke with the driver of the vehicle and subject was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Burglary
On June 22, Currington was dispatched to the burglary of a building in the 1500 block of Highway 159.
Alarm
On June 22, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a burglary alarm in the 700 block of S. Madison. Upon arrival officer found the building was secure and alarm was weather related.
On June 22, Mohr received a call of an alarm in the 2000 block of W. State Highway 71 Business and key holder arrived on location and walked the business and found all secure.
Accident
On June 24, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 2100 block of W. State Highway 71 Business where caller stated that a tractor-trailer knocked over a light in the parking lot. Officer met with the parties who had already exchanged insurance information. There were no injuries involved in the accident.
On June 25, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 1500 block of N. Highway 77 for an accident with no injuries.
Agency Assist
On June 27, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr assisted DPS and Fayette County Sheriff Deputies in the west bound lane of Highway 71.
Animal Complaint
On June 20, Patrolman John Wostarek responded to the 100 block of NW Circle for a snake on the front porch of a residence. Officer moved the snake off the font porch.
Civil Matter
On June 21, Sgt. Travis Anderson spoke with a complainant in the 2200 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in regard to a civil matter that occurred in Weikel’s earlier in the day.
On June 21, Currington was dispatched to contact individual by phone that had questions about welfare concerns of child custody. Officer answered questions.
On June 22, Mohr received a call in regard to an argument over a child custody matter. Officer responded to the 600 block of E. State Highway 71 By-Pass and spoke with both parties.
On June 24, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell spoke to a caller in regard to a civil matter in the 600 block of N. Washington.
Citizen Assist
On June 21, Anderson spoke with complainant in regard to an incident that occurred in Corpus Christi and was continuing but in Colorado County.
On June 25, Zwahr spoke with a caller in regard to a courtesy ride back to their motel. Officer gave the caller the number for a taxi service.
On June 27, Zwahr assisted a citizen in the 700 block of S. Reynolds with the changing of a flat tire.
Criminal Mischief
On June 26, Zwahr searched the 400 block of N. Horton for two subjects shooting a BB gun. Officer was unable to locate.
Disorderly Conduct
On June 25, Mohr received a call of a male and female arguing as they were walking in the 200 block of E. Travis. Officer found a subject was arguing with someone on a cell phone and there was not an argument between a male and female.
Disturbance
On June 24, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 200 block of N. Monroe in regard to a dispute.
On June 25, Currington was dispatched to the 1000 block of Sunset Lane for a possible disturbance. Officer made location and made contact with subjects and there was no violence. One subject was asked to leave.
Found Property
On June 20, Meinardus was flagged down in the 600 block of W. Lowerline by a subject that informed him that he found a small drone in his yard and wanted to turn it in as found property. Subject advised he has no idea who it belongs to. Officer picked up the drone.
On June 21, Mohr received a call of a found credit card that had been turned in. Officer attempted to locate the owner of the card.
Harassment
On June 20, Meinardus took information from a complainant that wanted to give more information regarding an issue they are having with a subject. Officer took information.
Juvenile Complaint
On June 23, Wostarek was dispatched to the 900 block of Mode Lane in regard to a juvenile complaint.
Loud Music
On June 21, Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of W Lowerline in regard to a noise complaint. Officer arrived on location and spoke with a male subject. Subject turned off music after speaking with officer.
On June 25, Maxwell was dispatched to the 900 block of E. Pearl in regard to loud music. Officer was unable to locate the loud music.
Public Intoxication
On June 21, Mohr received a call of an intoxicated person at a bar in the 2000 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Officer arrived and arrested the subject for public intoxication.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On June 21, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Jefferson for a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was gone upon officers arrival.
On June 21, Mohr received a call of a suspicious person in the 900 block of N. Monroe. Officer was unable to locate the person.
On June 22, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Main for trespassers. The people were gone when officer arrived.
On June 26, Zwahr searched a business for a suspicious vehicle near the back door in the 200 block of E. Travis. Vehicle was gone upon officer’s arrival.
Traffic Hazard
On June 21, Wostarek was dispatched to the 400 block of S. Jefferson in regard to tree limbs in the road. Officer arrived on location and cleared the tree limbs off the road.
On June 22, Currington was dispatched to the 200 block of W. Pecan for lines in the roadway. Officer marked lines with pink marking tape until utilities could arrive.
Terroristic Threat
On June 20, Maxwell was dispatched to the 600 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a disturbance where threats were made.
Theft
On June 26, Mohr received a call of a bicycle theft in the 400 block of W. Colorado.
Welfare Check
On June 20, Patrolman Justin Koehne spoke with an individual about a welfare concern in the 100 block of Charles.
On June 21, Mohr received a call of a white male in a gray van that appeared to be sleeping at the light in the 100 block of N. Jefferson. Officer arrived and was unable to locate the vehicle.
On June 23, Mohr received a call to respond to the 600 block of N. Washington for a welfare check where a person was dropped off in the area and was unable to locate the subject.
On June 24, Meinardus was dispatched to the 200 block of N. Washington for a subject who was disoriented and believed people were following her. Upon speaking to the subject and contacting a family member the officer contacted an ambulance and the subject was transported to the hospital by EMS.
Miscellaneous
On June 21, Currington was dispatched to the 200 block of W. Colorado in regard to a parking problem and subject moved the vehicle.
On June 22, Anderson spoke with a complainant in regard to several scam phone calls she had received.
On June 26, Mohr received a call of a juvenile runaway in the 300 block of Woodhollow. Officer took information.
