LG Police Respond to Firework Calls in City Limits
La Grange Police David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Dec. 26 through Jan 3.
Animal Complaint
On Dec. 31, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business and searched the area for an animal in the parking lot. Officer was unable to locate.
On Jan. 2, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell picked up a dog that was running loose in the 700 block of W. Travis.
Accident
On Dec. 30, Zwahr responded to the 1600 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business for a two-vehicle minor accident.
On Dec. 30, Patrolman David Mohr responded to a minor accident in the 400 block of E. Travis. Arrived and it was not a reportable accident.
On Dec. 31, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business for an accident that occurred in the parking lot.
On Jan. 1, Maxwell was dispatched to the 300 block of Wood Hollow for an accident.
On Jan. 1, Patrolman john Wostarek was dispatched to the 200 block of W. State Hwy 71 bypass in regard to an accident.
Citizen Assist
On Jan. 2, Wostarek spoke with a subject in the 500 block of Koenig about suspicious circumstances.
Credit Card Abuse
On Dec. 30, Patrolman Robin Emmons spoke with complainant in regard to subject using their credit card without permission.
Disorderly Conduct
On Dec. 31, Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of Cindy Ln. in regard to a subject shooting fireworks. Officer arrived on location and searched the area and was unable to locate anyone shooting fireworks.
On Dec. 31, Meinardus was dispatched to the 500 block of Koenig for fireworks going off at the location. The fireworks had stopped when officer arrived.
On Jan. 1, Wostarek was dispatched to the 600 block of N. Franklin in regard to a subject shooting fireworks.
On Jan. 1, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 500 block of W. Lowerline in regard to fireworks gong off. Officer upon arrival was unable to locate the source.
Disturbance
On Dec. 29, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call in regard to a disturbance in the 400 block of E. Fannin.
Juvenile Complaint
On Dec. 31, Zwahr spoke with a juvenile who was playing with his brother in the 200 block of E. Pearl. Officer asked the child to stay out of the road.
Property Damage
On Dec. 27, Anderson received a call for a vehicle that had left the roadway and cut through a yard and struck a mailbox and phone utility box in the 900 block of N. Horton. The vehicle then fled the location.
Suspicious Vehicle/Subject
On Dec. 27, Wostarek was dispatched to the 800 block of N. Horton in regard to a suspicious vehicle.
On Dec. 27, Wostarek was dispatched to One St. Mark’s Place in regard to a suspicious person.
On Dec. 29, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 1900 block of State Hwy. 71 Business for subjects trying to sell fake gold. Subjects were gone upon offices arrival.
On Dec. 29, Anderson received a call in regard to a suspicious male walking barefoot in the 500 block of Lafayette. The location was near the city park.
On Dec. 30, Zwahr spoke to three subjects who were looking for a ride in the 1700 block of State Hwy. 71. Subjects left the property without incident.
On Dec. 30, Mohr responded to the 100 block of E. Travis for a subject yelling in a parking lot. Officer located the subject.
On Dec. 30, Mohr responded to the 1700 block of E. State Hwy. 71 Bypass for three people panhandling. Officer identified them and helped them find a path to Austin.
On Dec. 31, Maxwell checked on two suspicious vehicles in the 1600 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business.
On Jan. 1, Wostarek was dispatched to the 900 block of Mode Ln. in regard to a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle had left prior to officers’ arrival.
On Jan. 3, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Colorado in regard to a subject yelling. Officer arrived on location and searched the area but was unable to locate anyone yelling.
Theft
On Dec. 26, Currington was dispatched to the 1700 block of E. State Hwy. 71 Bypass for theft.
On Dec. 31, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business in regard to a subject who had shoplifted.
Traffic Hazard
On Jan. 1, Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Charles for a traffic hazard.
Welfare Check
On Dec. 29, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of N. Vail for a welfare check. Officer made contact and subject advised he had fallen asleep and was fine.
