LG Police Locate Vehicle Involved In Hit And Run
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Jan. 24-31.
Accident
On Jan. 25, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 1600 block of N. Jefferson where caller stated that he was rear ended on the roadway and the other vehicle fled the scene of the accident without stopping to provide any information or even to identify themselves. Officer gathered information and located the suspicious vehicle.
On Jan. 25, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Travis in regard to a one-vehicle accident. Officer took crash report and information. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
On Jan. 27, Zwahr responded to a two vehicle minor accident in the 100 block of E. Colorado. Officer took information.
On Jan. 27, Currington was flagged down in reference to an accident that had just occurred in the 100 block of S. Main. Officer took information for report.
On Jan. 29, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of N. Jefferson where caller stated that a subject threw something out of their truck and it hit the caller’s truck on the Highway 71 Bypass. Officer located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Officer and a State Trooper spoke to both subjects who did not want to exchange information and went on their way.
On Jan. 30, Wostarek was dispatched to an accident in the 1300 block of N. Jefferson. Officer issued blue forms to both parties.
Agency Assist
On Jan. 26, Patrolman John Wostarek assisted the fire department in the 200 block of W. Colorado.
Animal Complaint
On Jan. 24, Animal Control Officer Dean Ahlschlager picked up seven chickens in the 200 block of Svoboda Lane.
On Jan. 27, Patrolman Kevin Currington responded to the 200 block of S. Jackson in reference to an injured deer. Officer checked and the deer was dead. Patrolman referred to animal control for pickup.
On Jan. 28, Patrolman Cutis Zwahr responded to the Highway 71 Bypass at Von Minden in regard to a stray dog at the location.
On Jan. 30, Patrolman Justin Koehne responded to the 600 block of N. Monroe in regard to a stray dog. The dog was caught and taken to the animal shelter.
Civil Matter
On Jan. 28, Currington was dispatched to the 900 block of E. Travis for a possible disturbance that turned out to be a civil matter.
Disorderly Conduct
On Jan. 25, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Vail for two subjects arguing and looking as if they were about to fight. Officer arrived and checked the area. Subjects were already gone upon officer’s arrival.
On Jan. 29, Patrolman Justin Koehne responded to the 800 block of S. Vail where complainant advised the fans from the game were yelling at each other in the parking lot. When units arrived the subjects were gone.
On Jan. 29, Maxwell was dispatched to One St. Marks Place in regard to a subject that was being irate. Officer spoke with subject who advised he wanted a ride back to Lee County. The officer was able to find subject a ride back to Lee County.
Family Violence
On Jan. 24, Patrolman Robin Emmons responded to the 900 block of N. Horton for a juvenile complainant that was assaulted. There was no visible injury. The disturbance was over a missing jacket.
On Jan. 25, Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Milam in regard to a disturbance between a male and female. One subject was arrested for assault family violence and was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On Jan. 24, Zwahr responded to a call of a suspicious person in the 700 block of E. Lafayette. Subjects were gone upon officer’s arrival.
On Jan. 25, Wostarek was dispatched to the 200 block of W. Colorado in regard to a suspicious vehicle.
On Jan. 26, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1900 block of State Highway 71 Business in regard to a vehicle with its door open. Officer was notified by Fayette County Sheriff’s Office that the owner of the vehicle had left the door open and disregard the call.
On Jan. 27, Zwahr responded to the 800 block of E. Travis for a suspicious person outside of the business.
On Jan. 27, Currington was dispatched to the 800 block of E. Travis for a suspicious person. Officer arrived and individual was gone.
On Jan. 27, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call in regard to a suspicious male riding a bicycle in the 500 block of E. Pearl.
On Jan. 27, Anderson responded to the N. Jefferson area in regard to a suspicious vehicle.
On Jan. 30, Wostarek was dispatched to the 900 block of S. Jefferson in regard to a suspicious person. Officer was notified by Sheriff’s Office to disregard the call because the subject was waiting to pick up his wife from work.
Trespassing
On Jan. 29, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1900 block of Highway 159 in regard to a male subject trespassing. Officer arrived on location and spoke with male subject, Subject left after speaking with officer.
On Jan. 29, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1700 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass in regard to a subject that was trespassing.
Welfare Check
On Jan. 25, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of N. College in regard to a subject yelling. Officer arrived on location and spoke with a female subject who stated that she was yelling at her boyfriend while speaking with him over the phone and that all was fine.
On Jan. 28, Zwahr responded to the 200 block of S. College to do a welfare check and upon arrival spoke to the subject who stated that all was fine and that the phone line was down.
On Jan. 28, Patrolman Brian Adams responded to the 400 block of E. Travis regarding a female in the parking lot requesting assistance with finding a women’s shelter to go to.
On Jan. 29, Wostarek was dispatched to the 900 block of N. Horton in regard to a welfare check.
On Jan. 29, Wostarek was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Monroe in regard to a welfare check.
Miscellaneous
On Jan. 26, Adams responded to the 600 block of E. Eblin to investigate a report of a forged or altered physician appointment release documents.
On Jan. 27, Meinardus responded to the 1700 block of E. State Highway 71 Business where caller requested a police escort while she opened the building. Officer provided the escort and stood by while the individual checked the doors to the business. Officer cleared the call when the business was secured.
On Jan. 28, Anderson arrested a subject in the 200 block of S. College for two outstanding county warrants.
On Jan. 29, Meinardus responded to the 1000 block of N. Madison where caller stated that a subject was speaking very loud outside. Officer checked the area and did not locate the subject.
On Jan. 29, Wostarek responded to the 100 block of E. Pearl where caller stated that someone was burning leaves in the area. Officer arrived on location and was unable to locate anyone burning leaves in the area.
On Jan. 30, Meinardus responded to the 900 block of S. Washington for loud music. Officer met with the subject and requested they turn down the music. Subject turned down the music.
On Jan. 31, Maxwell was dispatched to the 900 block of S. Washington in regard to loud music. Officer spoke with the homeowner and a warning was issued.
