LG Police Department Launches Campaign To Reward Drivers

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath wants to reward drivers following the posted speed limit on La Grange’s busy streets. Yes, you read that right, if you are “caught” in the month of June following the posted speed limit on roads in the city limits, you will be rewarded with an HEB gift card. “Summer is right around the corner and with the expected increase in traffic, we want to make sure our locals are practicing safe driving measures” said Gilbreath.

Speeding endangers everyone on the road. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, in 2017 speeding killed over 9,700 people ... accounting for 26% of all traffic fatalities in 2017. “We all know the frustrations of life and juggling a busy schedule, but speed limits are put in place to protect all road users. That’s why the La Grange Police Department is joining the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to remind all drivers to Stop Speeding Before It Stops You,” said Gilbreath.
