LG Police Arrest Subject Involved In Hit And Run
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of April 4-11.
Accident
On April 6, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 2300 block of W. State Highway 71 Business to the parking lot of the Sealand Restaurant for a hit and run. One male subject was arrested.
On April 9, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 2000 block of N. Jefferson to a minor two-vehicle accident. No injuries and officer took information and a citation was issued.
Agency Assist
On April 7, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr assisted EMS with a medical call in the 100 block of Svoboda Lane.
On April 8, Patrolman David Mohr while on routine patrol in the 700 block of E. Colorado located an 8-inch water line ruptured. City crews on call were notified and began the repair process.
Animal Complaint
On April 4, Mohr received a call of dogs barking in the 200 block of S. Lester. Officer upon arrival was unable to locate any barking dogs.
On April 5, Mohr received a call of a dog barking in the neighborhood in the 1000 block of S. Madison. Officer upon arrival was unable to locate a barking dog.
On April 5, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 900 block of Mode Lane in regard to an animal complaint.
On April 5, Animal Control Officer Dean Ahlschlager picked up a dog on the 100 block of W. Live Oak and returned dog back to the owner.
On April 6, Ahlschlager responded to the 400 block of S. Franklin for three goats running loose. Officer located the goats and returned to yard.
On April 6, Ahlschlager picked up a pit-bull dog in the 1600 block of N. Jefferson.
Burglary
On April 7, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call of a burglary in the 300 block of E. Live Oak.
Citizen Assist
On April 9, Meinardus responded to the 800 block of S. Washington where caller stated that the neighbor had trash accumulating on the property and property manager ran over it with a lawnmower. Neighbor also complained of loud noise and dogs barking constantly.
On April 10, Meinardus responded to One St. Mark’s Place to assist with a patient.
On April 10, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of Charles in regard to a citizen assist.
Civil Matter
On April 7, Zwahr spoke with a subject in regard to a civil matter in the 300 block of E. Love Oak.
Driving While Intoxicated
On April 10, Meinardus responded to the 300 block of Diers Lane where caller stated that a white truck was driving by their home at a high rate of speed. Officer went to the location and the caller identified the truck, which pulled onto the street. Officer found the driver was intoxicated.
On April 11, Maxwell was dispatched to the 900 block of N. Franklin for a one-vehicle accident. The subject was arrested.
Disturbance
On April 5, Patrolman Justin Koehner responded to a disturbance in the 2300 block of W. State Highway 71 Business.
On April 8, Zwahr responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of S. Ellinger.
Fraud
On April 8, Zwahr spoke with a subject in the 800 block of Eckel in regard to fraud.
On April 10, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of N. Madison where caller stated that she received a phone call from an individual who said he was a police officer and wanted to know her address. Caller did not give him any information and reported incident to the police.
Identity Theft
On April 5, Wostarek spoke with a caller in the 100 block of Rose Mayer Loop about identity theft.
Loitering
On April 7, Chief David Gilbreath responded to the 300 block of E. Fannin for subjects sitting under a tree. Subjects were located and were sitting on the tailgate of a legally parked truck.
Reckless Driving
On April 9, Koehne checked on a reckless driver in the 500 block of E. Fannin. Vehicle was gone upon officer’s arrival.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On April 5, Koehne checked on a suspicious person at the park in the 400 block of W. Colorado.
On April 5, Mohr received a call of a suspicious person in the emergency room at St. Mark’s Hospital. Officer found the subject and he was broken down and needed assistance to contact his family.
On April 7, Anderson received a call in regard to a suspicious vehicle that had been on the property for a couple of hours in the 2400 block of W. State Highway 71 Business.
On April 7, Zwahr spoke with a subject in regard to a suspicious person in the 500 block of S. Jefferson.
On April 9, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of N. Washington in regard to a suspicious person. Officer arrived on location and spoke with a male subject. Subject left after speaking with officer.
Traffic Hazard
On April 10, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1600 block of Highway 77 South in regard to a vehicle stalled on the bluff. Vehicle left prior to officer’s arrival.
Warrant Arrest
On April 5, Maxwell was dispatched to the 200 block of Ellinger in regard to harassment. One subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
On April 10, Maxwell arrested a subject on an outstanding warrant in the 900 block of N. Franklin.
Welfare Check
On April 4, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business to check on a female in a vehicle. Officer checked on two subjects in vehicle and officer was not needed.
On April 4, Zwahr was dispatched to the 1000 block of Sunset for a welfare check.
On April 6, Wostarek spoke with a complainant in the 300 block of N. Jackson for a welfare check.
On April 7, Currington was dispatched to the 1000 block of Sunset for a welfare concern.
On April 7, Zwahr responded to One St. Mark’s Place for a subject sitting on the side of the road. Subject was gone upon officer’s arrival.
Miscellaneous
On April 7, Zwahr responded to the 900 block of N. Jefferson to search for a juvenile subject walking in and out of the roadway. Officer was unable to locate.
On April 7, Zwahr spoke with a subject in the 500 block of Cindy Lane in regard to a scam.
On April 7, Mohr received a call of loud music in the 100 block of Guy. Officer arrived and the loud music stopped.
On April 9, Patrolman Brian Adams responded to the 500 block of N. Jackson where complainant found a vehicle window broken in the parking lot. Officer observed shattered window and noticed isolated point of origin. Area was recently edged with string trimmer. Damage consistent with rock thrown by trimmer. No criminal activity.
On April 9, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1500 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in regard to found property.
