Save the butter and margarine wrappers in a bag in the fridge. When you need to grease a pan, get out a couple of the wrappers and rub the inside part of the wrapper on the pan bottom and sides. It works and uses up the butter or margarine on the paper.

If your kitchen drain gets slow, give this one a try. Put 1 cup of baking soda in your drain and let it settle for a few minutes then pour 1 cup of vinegar down the drain. It will bubble and fizz so you need to let it work for a good 15 minutes. Then get a pan or tea kettle full of water and get it to boiling. Then pour that hot, hot water down the drain. It will really fizz up, but it sure does clean the drain out and you didn’t have to buy a fancy drain cleaner either.

This year, I’m going to be introducing recipes that I have found in very old recipe books or I have tried myself. The Tater Tot Casserole was submitted by Ann Zoch Bamsch in the Favorite Recipe Cookbook/Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. This recipe is easy, quick and delicious.

Tater Tot Casserole

1 lb. ground meat 1 onion, chopped

1 onion, chopped

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 can water

1 lb. pkg. tater tots

Brown meat and drain off grease. Add onions, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix soup and water, pour over meat. Place tater tots on top of meat. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes at 375 degrees.
