Ledbetter Lane of Lights Continues this Weekend
The Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights continues on Dec. 12-13; and Dec. 19-20 from 6-8:30 p.m. Enjoy a hayride, hot chocolate, wassail, popcorn, cookies, Santa and music.
Admission is $10 per person and children two years and younger are free. Cash or checks are accepted.

The Round Top-Carmine JV and varsity boys’ basketball teams play the College Station Freshmen A/B on Dec. 9 at 5 p.m. in College Station.
Varsity girls and Jr. High girls and boys host Richards on Dec. 9 with the Jr. High girls playing at 4 p.m.
Varsity boys participate in the Snook tournament on Dec. 11-13.
JV and varsity boys play at Hallettsville Sacred Heart on Dec. 15 at 5 p.m.
Jr. High girls and boys host Fayetteville on Dec. 15 at 5 p.m.
The last day of classes in 2025 will be on Dec. 18 and classes will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Classes resume on Jan. 7, 2026.
Christmas Lighting Contest The annual Christmas lighting contest for both homes and businesses is planned for Dec. 19 or 20 from dusk to 9:30 p.m. Everyone looks forward to seeing the beautiful decorations.
The Carmine City Park has a number of trees lit this year.
Ledbetter Community Center
Bingo for seniors, 60 and older plus guests, will be held on Sunday, Dec. 14 from 2-4 p.m. at the Ledbetter Community Center. Doors open at 1:15 p.m.
Snacks and drinks are available for a donation.
Capital Area Food Bank
The Capital Area Food Bank mobile pantry will be available on Dec. 20 from 10-11 a.m. in the parking lot of the Waldeck Evangelical Lutheran Church, located near the intersection of FM 1291 and FM 2145. It is for Fayette County residents.
MLLC News
Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.
Advent service is Wednesday with the Rev. John David Nedbalek leading the service. A meal will be served at 6 p.m., followed by worship at 7 p.m. Both are held in the Fellowship Hall. It is a combined service of the Crossroads Shared Ministry, which includes Bethlehem Lutheran of Round Top, St. Paul Lutheran of Shelby, Waldeck Lutheran, and Martin Luther Lutheran of Carmine.
Rebekah Group meets Thursday at 12 noon in the Fellowship Hall.
AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship service with Holy Communion, observing the third Sunday in Advent, is at 10 a.m. The Rev. Ken Weiss will serve as the guest pastor. The Noisy Offering will be collected for Lutherhill Ministries.
Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m.
Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up. Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m.
