Ledbetter Homecoming Slated for June 13
Ledbetter Homecoming is scheduled for Sunday, June 13 at Ledbetter Firemen’s Park. A drive-thru fried fish dinner will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tickets are pre-sale only and are available from Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department members, at Carmine State Bank, and at Round Top State Bank in both Round Top and Giddings. A bake sale will benefit the Ledbetter Homemakers’ Club.
La Bahia Memorial Service
The La Bahia Cemetery will have their Memorial Service this Sunday, May 30 at 2 p.m. at the cemetery. The pastor from the Greenvine Lutheran Church will lead the service.
RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine Junior High and High School will have separate Awards Banquets on May 25 during the school day. No outside guests will be allowed. It will be filmed for parents and community members to view at their convenience.
May 26 is the last day of classes. Teachers have workdays on May 27 and 28.
High School graduation will be held May 28 at Festival Hill. Tickets are required to attend.
RT-C has posted a list on their website for summer opportunities for students in various grades. They include a band program, basketball camp, cheer camp, Junior and Senior Beta Club service days, open gym, events at Round Top Family Library, strength and conditioning, and volleyball camp.
Confirmation
Four students were confirmed at Martin Luther Lutheran Church by Pastor David Tinker on May 16. They were Joshua Aranzolo, son of Angelica Colpetzer and Jesus Aranzolo; Brody Dooley, son of Todd and Amy Dooley; Drayton Oakes, son of Cassius and Glenda Oakes; and Nicholas Roemer, son of James Roemer and Heather Tyra. A reception followed the service in the parlor.
Carmine Heritage Committee
The Carmine Heritage Committee will meet on Wednesday, June 2 at 10 a.m. in the museum. Discussion will center on Special Memories of the First 100 Years – Celebrations, Tragedies, and Unusual Happenings.
All are welcome to attend. The more ideas presented, the better the discussion.
Carmine VFD
Carmine Volunteer Fire Department regular meeting is May 27.
They are planning their annual Feast and Fundraiser on July 18 with a drive-thru fried chicken meal. More information will be available soon.
Eichler and Kieke Reunion
The Eichler and Kieke families will have a combined reunion on Sunday, June 6 at 11 a.m. at the La Bahia Hall with a noon catered meal. Drinks will be provided. Attendees may bring a salad or dessert to share. RSVP by calling (979) 451-1507 or (979) 451-1462.

Rebekah Group of MLLC
The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met May 13 at 2 p.m. The seven members present were Dianna Gerland, Susan Ray, Colette Wunderlich, Carol Carmean, Jocie Jacob-Braun, Diana Wunderlich, and Nancy Eilers.
Birthday celebrants recognized for May were Jenell Jaster and Edith Flinn.
The Bible study was a group discussion with the theme “Intergenerational Devotional; Feasting Angels.”
Susan Ray, president, called the meeting to order.
There was a good turnout at quilting on May 10. Colette brought the 65 personal care kits that she made.
Fabric kits ingathering is during May. Collection for AMEN is also during May.
Colette Wunderlich volunteered to plan the Thankoffering service, which will be on Nov. 14. Discussion was held on whether or not to have the turkey and dressing meal.
Jocie Braun gave the offering meditation. She based it on the Ascension of Jesus, since May 13 was Ascension Day.
The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer, followed by the singing of the table prayer.
Hostesses were Carol Carmean and Susan Ray.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.
Sunday worship with Holy Communion, observing The Holy Trinity, is at 10 a.m. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans are accepted. Attendants are available to help unload.
They kindly ask that you please wait to drop off items when they are open. It is very helpful to have the recycled items separated.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
