La Grange Seeks New Municipal Judge As Richard Schultz Retires
La Grange Municipal Court Judge Richard Schultz retired at the end of last year and now the City is seeking a replacement.
At a meeting Monday night, Jan. 10, City Council appointed Brett Wolff as the temporary municipal judge until they select a permanent replacement. Wolff currently serves as the City’s finance director. City Manager Shawn Raborn said he expected Council to make a decision at their meeting on Jan. 24.
“We’ve had some people submit letters of interest,” Raborn said after the meeting on Monday
The municipal judge mainly handles traffic tickets. Other duties include presiding over small claim suits, cases involving city ordinance violations and cases involving certain minor criminal offenses that occur inside the City.
