La Grange Police Respond to Two Vehicle Burglaries
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during April 25 through May 2.
Burglary of A Motor Vehicle
On May 1, Investigator Troy Stevens responded to the 100 block of Northpointe Avenue for a burglary of a motor vehicle.
On May 1, Anderson received a call in regard to a burglary of a motor vehicle in the 300 block of W. Northline.
Agency Assist
On April 25, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr assisted deputies with a subject at Highway 71 access road near Von Rosenburg.
On May 1, Patrolman David Mohr received a call to assist with an inmate at the jail.
On May 1, Zwahr assisted a county deputy on a traffic stop in the 1500 block of N. Jefferson.
Alarm
On April 25, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 300 block of N. Washington for a panic alarm. Officer arrived and found an open door and cleared the building. Key holder arrived and locked the building.
On April 29, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 500 block of S. Jackson in regard to an alarm.
On May 1, Sgt. Travis Anderson received an alarm call at the VA clinic main entrance at Two St. Mark’s Place. Officer checked all doors and windows and found the business to be secure.
Animal Complaint
On April 25, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 1900 block of Highway 71 Business in regard to a dog in a vehicle. The dog was found to be fine and the vehicle was running and air conditioner was on.
On April 25, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 500 block of N. Jefferson for possible animals under the residence. Officer did not find any under the residence. Officer closed the access door leading underneath the building for the subject.
On April 28, Animal Control Officer Dean Ahlschlager talked to the owner of chickens in the 500 block of S. Meyer about keeping the chickens pinned up.
On April 28, Chief David Gilbreath responded to the 800 block of E. Camp where complainant reported that the neighbors’ dog broke her board fence.
On April 29, Ahlschlager picked up two dogs in the 700 block of E. Pearl and returned them to owner and they advised they will keep them in the yard.
On April 29, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of E Northpointe in regard to an animal complaint. Officer arrived on location and caller stated that there was a snake in their garage. Officer got the snake out of the garage and contacted animal control.
Citizen Assist
On April 27, Anderson received a call to contact a complainant in regard to picking up some recovered property.
On April 27, Zwahr responded to Lee for a city ordinance violation.
On April 29, Meinardus was notified that a subject called and complained he was being harassed by law enforcement. Officer called the subject and subject stated that everything was fine and the incident was being taken care of.
On April 30, Anderson received a call in regard to a possible transient in the 2200 block of W. State Highway 71 Business that has been at the location for quite awhile.
On May 1, Anderson received a call to speak to a female outside the courthouse.
Disturbance
On April 29, Meinardus responded to the 500 block of Koenig where caller stated that she got into an argument with a subject and asked him to leave. The caller advised she then locked the subject outside and he kicked in the door before leaving the location. No physical abuse occurred.
On April 29, Maxwell was dispatched to the 600 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a disturbance.
On April 30, Mohr received a call of an argument in the 200 block of S. Jefferson and upon officer’s arrival both parties had separated.
Accident
On April 26, Anderson received a call in regard to a twovehicle accident in the 100 block of E. Live Oak with no injuries.
On April 28, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Franklin in regard to a traffic accident. Officer took information.
On April 29, Patrolman Justin Koehne responded to the 1800 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass for an accident in the Whataburger parking lot.
Fraud
On April 30, Patrolman Kevin Curringon was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Travis for attempted fraud. Officer took information from subject about an ATT fraud that was attempted but not completed.
Family Disturbance
On April 28, Meinardus responded to the 600 block of S. Jefferson where complainant stated that she has been having an ongoing problem with her exboyfriend. Complainant stated they work together and today he took her headphones out of her ears and proceeded to yell at her. Officer took information.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On April 26, Currington was dispatched to the 1000 block of Von Minden for subjects in the playground. Officer checked the area and found it was kids playing. The subjects were gone.
On April 26, Zwahr received a call of a suspicious person harassing the school bus driver in the 300 block of Northpointe. Officer upon arrival searched the area but was unable to locate the subject.
On April 27, Zwahr responded to the 100 block of N. Monroe to a suspicious person. Subject left without incident after officer arrived.
On April 27, Anderson responded to the 1800 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass in regard to a male walking in and out of traffic.
On April 29, Wostarek was dispatched to the 200 block of Ellinger in regard to a suspicious person. Officer arrived on location and spoke with complainant. Officer was unable to locate the suspicious person.
On April 29, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of N. Main in regard to a suspicious person. Officer arrived on location and spoke with a male subject and subject left after speaking with officer.
On April 30, Currington was dispatched to the 200 block of W. Colorado for a person yelling. Officer made contact with subject, who was talking on the phone loudly.
On April 30, Currington was dispatched to the 200 block of W. Colorado to subject that had been at the location earlier. Subject left the area upon officer’s arrival.
On May 1, Anderson received a call in regard to a suspicious male walking around the parking lot in the 400 block of E. Travis.
On May 2, Mohr received a call of a suspicious person in the 1000 block of N. Madison. Officer was unable to locate.
Terroristic Threat
On April 30, Zwahr responded to the 200 block of Ellinger in regard to a threat.
Theft
On April 29, Wostarek was dispatched to the 400 block of S. Jefferson in regard to a theft.
On April 29, Chief Gilbreath responded to the 100 block of W. Colorado for suspicious activity.
On May 1, Anderson received a call in regard to a theft from a motor vehicle in the 600 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass.
Traffic Hazard
On April 26, Meinardus responded to the 600 block of E. Pearl for a juvenile that was driving a go-kart on the road in the area around the recreation center. Officer spoke to the juvenile’s father and advised him that he could not operate the vehicle on a city street.
Welfare Check
On April 28, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Lester in regard to a welfare check. Officer arrived on location and spoke with a male subject who advised he was fine and just resting.
On April 29, Koehne responded to the 400 block of W. Colorado for a welfare check.
On May 1, Anderson received a call regarding a possibly intoxicated driver with a child in the vehicle on Highway 77 South.
On May 1, Zwahr responded to the 500 block of N. Jefferson for a welfare check.
