La Grange Police Respond to Reported Vehicle Fire, Owner Found Steam Cleaning
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Aug. 15-22.
Fire
On Aug. 17, Anderson received a call in regard to a possible vehicle on fire parked next to a building in the 1600 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Upon arrival officer found there was no fire but an employee was steam cleaning the vehicle engine.
Accident
On Aug. 15, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to a complainant in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business where a vehicle had backed into his car and then left the location.
On Aug. 16, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business for a two vehicle minor accident in the parking lot. Officer issued blue forms.
On Aug. 17, Patrolman David Mohr responded to the 400 block of E. Travis for a minor parking lot accident. Officer found that there was only a scratch on a rim. Officer advised both parties to exchange information.
On Aug. 20, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Jefferson parking lot for a minor accident.
Animal Complaint
On Aug. 15, Patrolman Justin Koehne responded to the 300 block of W. Milam in regard to a dog bite.
On Aug. 16, Animal Control Officer Dean Ahlschlager followed up on a dog bite in the 300 block of W. Milam.
On Aug. 17, Ahlschlager picked up a sick buzzard in the 300 block of S. Main.
On Aug. 21, Currington was dispatched to the 600 block of S. Franklin in reference to a squirrel possibly hit by a car. Officer made contact with the caller and advised he would take care of it and bury it if the squirrel doesn’t survive.
Alarm
On Aug. 18, Mohr received a call of an alarm in the 2200 block of W. State Highway 71 Business and found a delivery crew had set off the alarm.
On Aug. 19, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 2400 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in regard to a fire alarm. Officer arrived on location and spoke with an employee that stated it was a false alarm.
On Aug. 21, Mohr responded to an alarm in the 100 block of N. Vail and found the building was secure.
Burglary of Vehicle
On Aug. 19, Investigator Troy Stevens took a repot at the police station where a complainant advised items were stolen from a vehicle.
Disturbance
On Aug. 16, Wostarek was dispatched to the 700 block of E. Eblin in regard to a disturbance. Officer spoke with both parties and a male subject was issued a criminal trespass warning.
On Aug. 17, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call in regard to a male in the 200 block of N. Main in the lobby screaming and refusing to leave. Upon arrival the officer found the male subject had just left. The male subject was not in the area and could not be located.
On Aug. 19, Meinardus responded to the 900 block of E. Guadalupe where caller stated the grandmother wanted to leave in the vehicle and the subject would not let her leave. Upon arrival to the location officer separated the parties.
On Aug. 20, Currington was dispatched to the 800 block of S. Jefferson for a subject being loud and disturbing other patrons. Officer made location and the subject had left.
Disorderly Conduct
On Aug. 19, Koehne was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Colorado in reference to a subject disturbing a meeting. Subject was gone when officer arrived.
On Aug. 21, Currington was dispatched to the 800 block of E. Travis for a subject being loud and disorderly and acting odd. Officer arrived and made contact with the subject and arrested the subject on an outstanding felony warrant out of Fayette County.
Harassment
On Aug. 16, Patrolman Robin Emmons responded to the 1900 block of Highway 159 where a complainant reported that a known subject threatened him by saying he would jump over the counter and beat him to the ground over a missing cell phone.
On Aug. 18, Wostarek spoke to a subject in the 1000 block of N. Franklin in regard to harassment.
Missing Child
On Aug. 18, Meinardus responded to the 600 block of E. Milam where caller stated that a child was missing. The child got on the wrong bus after school and was returned to parents.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On Aug. 15, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1500 block of Highway 159 in regard to a suspicious person.
On Aug. 16, Emmons responded to the 700 block of E. Guadalupe for a suspicious black male in a red shirt banging on the complainant’s door. The black male left and was located in the 500 block of E. Guadalupe. The male advised he was looking for a person he thought lived at that house.
On Aug. 16, Emmons responded to the 200 block of N. Main for a person yelling and screaming in the middle of the street. Officer located the subject in the 300 block of Washington. The subject was a known male with metal issues.
On Aug. 16, Mohr received a call of a subject sleeping at a dangerous location in the 1900 block of Highway 159. Officer arrived and checked on the subject and he moved to a safer location.
On Aug. 16, Mohr received a call of a suspicious person in the 800 block of E. Travis. Officer was unable to locate the subject.
On Aug. 17, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Travis for a suspicious subject. Officer made contact with the subject and all was fine.
On Aug. 17, Mohr received a call of a suspicious male in the 200 block of Ellinger. Officer was unable to locate the subject.
On Aug. 17, Mohr received a call of a suspicious vehicle in the 1900 block of Highway 159. Officer located the individual and they were waiting for the store to open.
On Aug. 17, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Travis for a suspicious subject. The subject had left the area upon officer’s arrival.
On Aug. 17, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Colorado for a suspicious subject in the office. Officer arrived and had the subject leave.
On Aug. 20, Currington responded to the 400 block of N. Jefferson for a suspicious subject. Officer made contact with the subject and had them leave.
On Aug. 20, Currington was dispatched to the 200 block of N. Washington for a subject sleeping on a bench. Officer made contact with the subject and had them leave.
On Aug. 21, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Vail for a subject possibly dealing in front of the location. Officer checked the area and subject had left before officer’s arrival.
On Aug. 21, Mohr received a call of a suspicious person at One St. Marks Place. Officer arrived and advised the subject to move from the property.
On Aug. 21, Anderson received a call in regard to a suspicious person in the 500 block of E. Pearl.
Terroristic Threat
On Aug. 18, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1600 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a terrorist threat. Male subject was arrested and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
On Aug. 16, Meinardus was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Travis for a subject that smoked inside the building and responded aggressively when asked to leave. Subject later threatened employees at the Health and Human Services Office.
Theft
On Aug. 20, Currington was dispatched to the 200 block of Svoboda for theft. Officer made contact with complainant. Subject did not leave location with the property and returned it before leaving location. Officer issued a criminal trespass warning at the location at managers request.
On Aug. 20, Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Fannin for a possible theft. Officer made contact with the caller and took information. Caller then called back and advised to disregard as neighbor had package.
Welfare Check
On Aug. 16, Anderson was dispatched to the 800 block of S. Jefferson to check on the welfare of an individual. Officer was advised the female was in a red car and caller was worried because the individual had not yet returned home.
