La Grange Police Investigating Assault

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Jan. 10-17.

Assault Family Violence

On Jan. 12, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 1500 block of W. State Highway 71 Business where caller stated that her husband assaulted her so she fled to the Walmart parking lot and contacted police. Officer and deputies checked the motel and the suspect had fled the location. Officer gathered the complainant’s statement and photographed her injury.

Assault Non-Family

On Jan. 14, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of an assault in the 500 block of E. Guadalupe. Officer met with complainant and took report.

Accident

On Jan. 10, Sgt. Travis Anderson responded to the 100 block of W. State Highway 71 for an accident.

On Jan. 15, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 1900 block of Highway 159 in regard to an accident. Officer took information for report.

Agency Assist

On Jan. 11, Wostarek assisted DPS with a traffic accident in the 2000 block of W. State Highway 71.

Alarm

On Jan. 11, Mohr responded to the 2200 block of Highway 71 Business and found the building to be secure.

On Jan. 12, Patrolman Justin Koehne was dispatched to the 2200 block of Highway 71 Business for an alarm. Officer found the building to be secure.

On Jan. 13, Meinardus responded to the 2200 block of Highway 71 Business for an alarm. Officer checked the building and found all secure and no sign of forced entry.

Criminal Mischief

On Jan. 12, Chief David Gilbreath responded to the 200 block of N. Franklin where complainant advised that three windows had been shot with a pellet gun.

On Jan. 15, Wostarek responded to the 1600 block of W. State Highway 71 Business where caller stated that the motor for their boat was damaged over the weekend. Officer took information.

Civil Matter

On Jan. 15, Meinardus responded to the 300 block of E. Live Oak where caller stated that he and his wife are divorcing and he wanted to return to the residence they shared since she was not there. Officer advised him this is a civil matter.

On Jan. 16, Wostarek spoke with a caller in the 5000 block of Mueller Road about a civil matter.

Fire Alarm

On Jan. 11, Wostarek was dispatched to One St. Mark’s Place in regard to a fire alarm. Officer arrived on location and found everything was fine.

Fraud

On Jan. 11, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1700 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in regard to fraud.

Juvenile Complaint

On Jan. 12, Wostarek was dispatched to the 400 block of S. Monroe in regard to a juvenile that did not want to go to school. Juvenile went to school after speaking with the officer.

On Jan. 14, Anderson received a call in regard to a juvenile disturbance in the 700 block of E. Pearl.

On Jan. 15, Wostarek was dispatched to the 600 block of Horton to take information about an incident that involved a juvenile.

Public Intoxication

On Jan. 12, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of W. Travis where caller stated that a hysterical subject ran into the store and claimed that someone was chasing her. Officer detained the subject and it was determined she was under the influence of narcotics. Officer arrested the subject for public intoxication.

Trespassing

On Jan. 13, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr spoke with a caller in the 600 block of E. La Fayette in regard to a subject trespassing.

Theft

On Jan. 10, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 1900 block of Highway 71 business for a possible theft. Officer spoke with the manager who advised the product was recovered.

On Jan. 10, Patrolman Robin Emmons took a report of a stolen bicycle in the 500 block of E. Guadalupe. The bicycle was found leaning up against a fence in the 600 block of Fannin.

On Jan. 13, Currington was dispatched to the 2000 block of W. State Highway 71 Business for a theft. Officer spoke with complainant and took information.

On Jan. 13, Mohr received a call of a theft in the 100 block of E. Crockett. Officer took information.

Welfare Check

On Jan. 10, Currington checked on a subject in the 400 block of S. Jefferson and the subject was fine.

On Jan. 15, Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of Koenig in regard to a welfare check.

On Jan. 16, Meinardus responded to the 1700 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass where caller advised of a Hispanic man walking in the roadway. Officer checked the area and did not find anyone.

On Jan. 16, Meinardus responded to the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Bypass for a Hispanic male wearing a blue shirt and jeans walking on the road. Officer checked the surrounding area and did not find anyone walking on or along side the road.

On Jan. 16, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of Edgewood Lane for a welfare check on children. Officer found the children were safe and well cared for. Officer advised children were safe.

Miscellaneous

On Jan. 13, Zwahr responded to the 800 block of S. Washington where caller reported a lost James Avery charm bracelet.

On Jan. 13, Zwahr tagged two vehicles as abandoned in the 700 block of E. Fannin.

On Jan. 14, Anderson spoke with complainants in the 900 block of E. Guadalupe in regard to issues with a neighbor.

On Jan. 16, Koehne assisted a caller with getting an elderly subject into a vehicle in the 300 block of E. Colorado.
