La Grange Police Department Responds To Animal Complaints and Burglaries
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Oct. 24-31.
Agency Assist
On Oct. 30, Patrolman David Mohr assisted the sheriff’s department with an accident at the intersection of Hwy. 71 and Hatterman Rd.
Accident
On Oct. 24, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 1400 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a threevehicle accident. A citation was issued.
On Oct. 26, Patrolman John Wostarek responded to the 400 block of E. Travis for an accident.
On Oct. 27, Wostarek was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Travis in regard to a minor accident.
On Oct. 28, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1000 block of E. Travis in regard to a traffic accident.
On Oct. 29, Sgt. Travis Anderson responded to the 1900 block of Hwy. 159 for a onevehicle accident.
On Oct. 30, Mohr received a call of a two-vehicle accident in the 900 block of E. State Hwy. 71 Business.
Animal Complaint
On Oct. 27, Animal control Officer Dean Ahlschlager checked on bees in the 100 block of E. Charles. Owner advised they would take care of them.
On Oct. 27, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 400 block of N. Monroe for two dogs on her property. Officer returned the dogs to their property.
On Oct. 29, Anderson spoke with an individual in the 500 block of W. Lowerline in regard to a kitten that was under her trailer. There was not an access to the area but female had been feeding the kitten through a hole in the skirt panels. Animal control will be advised.
On Oct. 30, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 1600 block of E. Highway feeder for a loose horse. Owner located and horse was placed back into corral.
Burglary
On Oct. 24, Meinardus responded to the 600 block of N. Jefferson where caller advised that she came home and found the chain on her garage door open and undone. Officer took information.
Civil Matter
On Oct. 26, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 200 block of S. Ellinger in regard to a civil matter.
On Oct. 28, Wostarek was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Travis in regard to a civil matter.
Citizen Assist
On Oct. 24, Meinardus responded to the 300 block of Ellinger for a female who had locked her keys in the vehicle. Officer advised her to contact a wrecker service since we do not have the tools for unlocking vehicles.
On Oct. 25, Currington assisted women in the 1700 block of E. State Hwy. 71 Bypass who missed the driveway and got stuck in the ditch.
Counterfeit Money
On Oct. 26, Mohr received a call of counterfeit money in the 300 block of W. Travis.
On Oct. 29, Mohr received a call of counterfeit money in the 2000 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business.
Disturbance
On Oct. 25, Meinardus responded to the 600 block of E. State Hwy. 71 where caller stated that a subject was walking through the hotel, looking for a person that was not staying there. Officer made contact and got the subject to leave.
On Oct. 26, Mohr received a call of an argument in an apartment in the 500 block of Cindy Ln.
On Oct. 26, Wostarek was dispatched to One St. Mark’s Place in regard to two subjects yelling at each other. Subjects left prior to officer’s arrival.
On Oct. 27, Wostarek was dispatched to the 300 block of Wood Hollow in regard to a disturbance.
On Oct. 28, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1600 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business, in regard to subject that was in an argument with the manager. Subject left prior to officers’ arrival.
On Oct. 28, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Jefferson in regard to an irate customer.
On Oct. 29, Anderson responded to the 1700 block of E. State Hwy. 71 Business, in regard to a disturbance.
On Oct. 31, Anderson responded to the area of E.Walnut and S. Vail for loud noise. Upon arrival officer found several people were outside in the process of leaving the location. There was no loud music playing and the party was ending.
On Oct. 31, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of S. Washington and arrested one subject.
Family Violence
On Oct. 30, Anderson received a call in regard to a weapons disturbance in the 400 block of S. Washington. Upon arrival it was discovered the suspect was not at the location.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On Oct.25, Mohr responded to the 100 block of E. Travis for a subject looking at rocks. Officer made contact and was told they were interested in geology of rocks.
On Oct. 25, Currington was dispatched to the 1700 block of E. State Hwy. 8 Bypass for a suspicious person. Upon arrival subject was gone.
On Oct. 25, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1000 block of Hwy. 159 in regard to a suspicious person.
On Oct. 25, Currington was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Von Minden for a suspicious vehicle and it was gone upon officers arrival.
Oct 25, Meinardus responded to the 500 block of Koening Lane where caller stated that someone was knocking loudly on her window and doors. Office was unable to locate anyone.
On Oct. 28, Meinardus responded to the 1700 block of W. State Hwy. 71 for a truck parked at the entrance to the business. Officer checked the truck and found it was making deliveries to the business.
On Oct. 29, Currington checked on a subject at the ticket booth in the 800 block of S. Vail for getting loud. Officer spoke with the subject and he left.
Theft
On Oct. 27, Maxwell met with a subject in regard to a theft in the 100 block of S. Main.
On Oct. 27, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1600 block of N. Jefferson in regard to theft.
Violation of a Protective Order
On Oct. 27, Maxwell was dispatched to the 800 block of S. Jefferson in regard to a violation of a protective order.
On Oct. 28, Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a subject that violated a protective order. Subject left prior to officer’s arrival.
Welfare Check
On Oct. 24, Wostarek was dispatched to the 900 block of E. Upperline in regard to a welfare check.
On Oct. 27, Maxwell responded to the 1200 block of N. Von Minden in regard to a welfare check.
Warrant Arrest
On Oct. 25, Mohr responded to the 200 block of N. Main for a warrant arrest.
Miscellaneous
On Oct. 26, Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Main for an abandoned bicycle.
On Oct. 25, Mohr received a call of an HEB cart with groceries and no one around in the 800 block of S. Jefferson.
On Oct. 25, Mohr received a call to contact a complainant in the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business for a cell phone issue.
On Oct. 27, Maxwell was dispatched to the 600 block of N. Monroe in regard to found property.
On Oct. 28, Maxwell was dispatched to the 700 block of Hwy. 71 Business for a hard cooler lying in the center of roadway on the river bridge.
On Oct. 29, Mohr received a call of a wire in the roadway in the 200 block of E. Lowerline.
On Oct. 30, Mohr received a call of a found bicycle in the 400 block of E. Vine.
On Oct. 30, Anderson received a call in regard to a bicycle that has been sitting in the 700 block of N. Franklin for over a week.
On Oct. 31, Anderson received a call in regard to loud music in the 900 block of E. Pearl. Officer found the loud music playing in the area and call cleared.
