La Grange Main Street Announces Ornament and Window Decorating Contests

La Grange Main Street is hosting a Christmas ornament contest for Schmeckenfest, La Grange’s annual wassail and Christmas extravaganza. Ornaments will be displayed in the businesses on the Square beginning Monday, Nov. 29.

The contest is open to all K-6th grade students enrolled in La Grange ISD, Sacred Heart Catholic School and home school students who are La Grange residents. The ornaments will be grouped for display according to homeroom teachers and each merchant will be given a sign indicating which classes are located in their business. The top student entry from

The top student entry from each grade level will receive a prize. All ornament entries must be submitted to the Historic Casino Hall by Tuesday, Nov. 16.

In preparation for the Holiday Season, La Grange Main Street is also encouraging businesses on the Square in historic downtown La Grange to decorate in time for Schmeckenfest. They will be holding a window judging contest on Nov. 29 with the Traveling Trophy up for grabs for whomever comes in 1st place! 2nd and 3rd place will also receive ribbons for their efforts.
