La Grange Graduate Receives Trainee of The Week Honors

Kailee Jones is a 2021 graduate of La Grange High school and is doing basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Over a ten-week period they choose one Trainee of the Week out of about 1,100 soldiers. Jones recently received this honor.

“I have heard multiple stories from my grandfathers eight years in the military and it sounded interesting and challenging. After speaking with a recruiter and considering my options I was pretty nervous but ended up with an MOS, I look forward to serving as a 368 Financial specialist. I chose the MOS 368 because I’ve always been talented in mathematics and my mother has a similar civilian job. In the Army I plan to travel to different states and hopefully make a difference in the world. I feel as though the Army would provide me a successful future to my family and life. It will make me physically and mentally stronger and overall the person I’ve always wanted to be.”

Trainee Jones is the daughter of Larry Jones and Lizzie Placke-Drosche.
