Kathy Chlumsky Celebrates Birthday in Muldoon
Birthday Celebration
Kathy Chlumsky celebrated her big 66th birthday recently. Her daughters Summer Smith and Jennifer and Kenny Dong came in from Austin and Katy to help her mark another year off the calendar. Also joining in the fun was grandkids Connor, Hunter, Olivia and Marcus. They really enjoyed celebrating grandma’s birthday with cupcakes, opening cards and gifts. Having the grandkids just made the day for Kathy.
Everyone enjoyed some good old fashion country fun while in Muldoon. They also all enjoyed a wonderful birthday meal and to top off the birthday celebration birthday cupcakes were served all around. It was a great start to another year for Kathy and she is looking forward to making this one a good one.
Family Reunion
On a recent Sunday afternoon Ron and Pam Knotts attended a family reunion at the Shiloh Community Center near Hallettsville. The weather was perfect and relatives from across Texas came to spend the day catching up, one family with four little red headed kids who were the life of the party. Lunch was fried chicken and a host of sides along with delicious desserts were served. Following the meal was the honoring the oldest and youngest with prizes. One of the older gentlemen shared some of his old military stories along with an update on his recent work with veteran organizations.
The end of the day was filled with the making of plans for next gathering. Everyone had a great time with good food, family and wonderful weather.
Out and About
Dana and Darrell Kulak have been went back to Hungerford to do some work around their old place and to do a little visiting with family that lives in the area.
Jennifer and Clay Rightmer traveled for a few days to help daughter Lane Rightmer move. Lane changed locations in Waco and needed the help of her parents to make the move easier. While in Waco Clay and Jennifer also made the Baylor game and got to cheer on Clay’s old alma mater as they won their game.
Alayna Kidd, my old college buddy, stopped by on her way home from Biketober Fest in Daytona Beach. She was on her way to Arizona to meet up with her husband Dave and then get back in the saddle riding barrels. We had a great short visit and made plans for her to return in the near future for a longer visit.
Pin Oak Cemetery
Pin Oak Cemetery held their clean up day on Saturday, Oct. 16 with seven volunteers attending. They all enjoyed visiting while they worked. Part of the conversation was the planning of next year’s Rededication Ceremony on Oct. 16 in the afternoon. This will be Sunday afternoon and everyone is hoping it will be well attended, so mark your calendars now for this marking and honoring of history in the Muldoon area. It is on this history that the area was built. Walking through this historic cemetery reminds one of how hard it was “back in the day.” Between civil war soldiers and death from now-preventable diseases, it will make one appreciate how far we have come.
