It’s Fair Kick-Off Weekend

The Fayette County Fair Kick Off Weekend starts this Friday, Aug. 28.

Meat check-in for the Fayette County Fair BBQ Cook Off will be from 3-5 p.m. this Friday with the Chief Cooks meeting at 6 p.m.

The fourth annual Fayette County Car Show will also take place Saturday. There is no pre-registration. Entry fee is $10, and the first 50 entries will receive one free season pass to the Fayette County Fair. The show is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The awards presentation will be at 2 p.m. There will be door prizes, a raffle and food trailers. The event is free and open to the public.

A cornhole tournament is Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Marge Rosenberg Stage. Entry fees are $40 a team with an 80 percent payout.

The Fayette County Jr. Commercial Heifer Show will also take place this weekend. Final judging is on Friday starting at 4 p.m. The heifer sale takes place Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
