Hit & Run Charge Pending
La Grange Police plan to file charges against a local woman following a hit-and-run crash last Monday, Jan. 25.
The crash happened around 7:44 p.m. in the 1600 block of North Jefferson (US 77), near Back Porch BBQ and Grill. A report from Police Chief David Gilbreath said 40-year-old Clinton Nichols of La Grange was driving a 2013 Ford F-250 southbound on Jefferson. A 2000 Toyota Camry driven by 54-year-old Leana Davis of La Grange was following behind the Ford. The report said the Toyota struck the Ford in the rear. Davis lost control of her car. The Toyota spun around in the roadway and then fled from the scene.
Gilbreath said Sgt. Justin Koehne located Davis at a private residence on Northwest Circle in La Grange. The Toyota was parked at the residence.
No one was injured. The Ford suffered damage to the rear. Gibreath said the Toyota was extensively damaged. Gilbreath said his department will file charges against Davis for failure to stop and give information. Gilbreath said that Davis told officers she fled the scene because she was scared.
