Herb Society of America Pioneer Unit to Meet Feb. 10

The Pioneer Unit of the Herb Society of America held its January meeting in Burton. The group, which includes members from Washington, Fayette, Austin, and Harris Counties as well as other area counties, heard an interesting report on our yearlong study of twelve different basil varieties. Some are grown in the ground and others in pots. The pictures included in the presentation made many members interested in trying some new varieties of basil when the weather warms.

The Pioneer Unit’s February meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 10 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Antique Rose Emporium in Independence. The group will take a tour of the beautiful setting and the many plants for sale. February is the perfect time to plant roses.
