Harvest Fest Coming Up In Carmine On Oct. 17
Harvest Festival
The Harvest Festival of Martin Luther Lutheran Church is this Sunday, Oct. 17 at the Carmine Hall-Cedar Creek Schuetzen Verein, 300 N. Hauptstrasse, Carmine. The worship service will be at 9:30 a.m. with country style songs led by the Praise Team. There will be a pork steak
There will be a pork steak dinner and a drawing. Meal tickets are $12 per plate. Call the church office at (979) 278-3388 to see if meal tickets are still available.

Round Top-Carmine High School Varsity volleyball team hosts Snook Oct. 12 with the first game at 4:30 p.m.; this will be Dig Pink/Childhood Cancer night, since it was postponed from Oct. 1. JV and varsity play at Fayetteville Oct. 15 at 5 p.m.

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Drill Night is Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.
A burn ban is in effect for Fayette County. The flag is up at the fire station.
Personal Care Kits
The MLLC Women of the ELCA are collecting Personal Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief during the month of October. A kit includes a bath towel 52x27 inches or smaller; 2 bath size bars of soap; an adult toothbrush; a sturdy comb; and a metal nail clipper.

This Sunday, worship with Holy Communion will be held at the Carmine Hall at 9:30 a.m. The 21st Sunday after Pentecost will be observed, along with the Harvest Festival. The service will also be on the mllccarmine. com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean #1 and #2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
