Groundwater Conservation District Offices Back Open
The Fayette County Groundwater Conservation District opened its office back up on Jan. 4. The office had been closed for months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
At a meeting last month, district board member Robert Leer objected to the long closure. The board was set to vote on reopening the office at a meeting Monday morning, Jan. 18. That became a moot point, however, as District General Manager David Van Dresar announced that he decided to reopen the office on Jan. 4.
Van Dresar said he will require all visitors to wear a mask inside since the office is too small to accommodate social distancing. He asked the public to call (979) 968-3135 and make an appointment before coming to the office.
