Grass Fire

La Grange Volunteer Fire Department put out a small grass fire north of La Grange Tuesday afternoon, March 23.

The call came in around 1:30 p.m. reporting a fire on Chaparral Road off FM 2145 (the Nechanitz Highway). Upon arrival, Fire Chief Frank Menefee discovered an electrical line that fell from a pole. The line was connected to a shed. The line sparked and started a small patch of tall grass on fire.

A brush truck arrived and the crew quickly put out the fire. There were no injuries and no serious damage to the property.
