Gonzales County Escapee Captured in South Texas
An inmate who escaped from the Gonzales County Jail on Wednesday, July 21, was captured Sunday night, July 25.
The escape happened approximately 10:34 p.m. The inmate was identified as Juan Mario Garcia III, 21, of Gonzales. The escape took place while Garcia was attending the daily outdoor recreational activities. He scaled two concertina wire-topped fences and fled the area on foot.
Garcia was captured in La Salle County, located between Laredo and San Antonio, after eluding law enforcement for three days. He was apprehended by officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety Laredo Sector without incident.
Garcia has been transported to the La Salle County Jail, where he is being held for the warrant out of Gonzales County for Escape and Failure to Identify - Fugitive from Justice.
