Garbage Schedule

La Grange City offices will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, in observance of New Year’s Day. The week of December 29-Jan. 2 is garbage week only. Waste Management will also have a holiday on Thursday. If you normally get your garbage picked up on Thursday, it will be picked up on Friday. Museum Holiday

The Texas Heroes Museum will be closed Jan. 2-8 for the New Year holiday. Please remember our soldiers who cannot celebrate the New Year at home.

Adult Tech Training

Join for Adult Technology Training at the Fayette Public Library in La Grange on Saturday, Jan. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. If your computer is giving you problems, bring it along. Six seats are available. Registration is required. Call (979) 968-3765 to sign up.

Habitaty for Humanity ReStore

Fayette County Habitat for Humanity ReStore is open for sales and donation drop-off every Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 825 N. Main St. in Schulenburg. The ReStore sells and accepts donations of home goods to support Habitat’s mission. Visit www.fchfh.org/ReStore.

Fayette Regional Air Center Open House

The Fayette Regional Air Center Airport Layout Plan (ALP) Update will have an open house Wednesday, Jan. 7 at the Fayette County EMS Station located at 1721 N. Von Minden St. in La Grange from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Questions, email mmitchell@ksaeng.com.

Dinner and a Movie

The Casino Arts Association Present Dinner and a Movie showing “Cactus Jack” a western comedy starring Kirk Douglas, Ann Margaret and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The event will be Jan. 17 at the Casino Hall at 254 N. Jefferson in La Grange. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the meal at 6 p.m. The movie starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 a person. For ticket information, call (979) 968-3017. Deadline to buy tickets is Jan. 14.

Proper Flag Disposal Drop Off Locations The Texas Heroes Museum located at 171 S. Main in La Grange accepts old flags for proper disposal. The drop-off bin is inside the museum which is open 1-4 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. If leaving flags outside the door when the museum is closed, please have them in a plastic bag or a box so that they are not laying on the ground.

Marine Corps League Meeting

Marine Corps League Detachment 1028 will meet for their regular monthly meeting the fourth Tuesday of the month at the La Grange VFW Hall at 7 p.m. Contact Bobby Bedient at bobbymcl1028@ gmail.com for more information.

Feed The Need

Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.
