Founders Park ‘Theme’ to Remain as Local Firm Picked

Fayette County Commissioners selected the architecture firm Cutright and Prihoda Inc. to design the remodel of Founders Park on the Square in La Grange.

The project will now enter the design phase.

“I don’t want to do anything the community doesn’t want,” Weber said.

Weber said he would coordinate with the City of La Grange and La Grange Main Street during the design process.

“I want them to have some input on what the architect comes up with based on the budget we have,” Weber said.

“I hope it would be a nice visitors center with restrooms inside, but at the same time I want to keep the theme of Founders Park,” Weber said.

The County and City of La Grange previously agreed to share the costs up to $200,000 for the project. Back in November, the Lower Colorado River Authority awarded a $50,000 community development grant toward the project as well.
