Flag Pole Repaired at Muldoon Park
Recently Randy Stork and Dale Holly teamed up to do some repairs to the block at the top of the flag pole in the Muldoon Community Park. Dale lifted Randy up in the bucket of his tractor to get him into place to do all the repairs. This enabled them to get everything ready for a beautiful flag display for the 4th of July. The park is located at the corner of FM 154 and West FM 2237, be sure and check it out as you are going through Muldoon.
Out And About
Devon Boehnke enjoyed a visit from his granddaughter Annie Zimmerhanzel, her husband Cody and son Luke last week. They arrived in for a visit and some fishing fun.
Dana Kulak celebrated her retirement from the La Grange school system with a gathering of teacher friends, her husband Darrell Kulak and her sister April Pospisil, who came in from Wharton for the party. The party took place at Busted Oak Cellars. There was lots of laughter and fun had by those who came out to help Dana welcome in the newest chapter of her life.
Ron and Pam Knotts were out on an adventure with a recent trip to the doctor in Houston. They encountered the nightmare of traffic on I-10 corridor on the way home with traffic coming to a dead stop on their way headed home. They thought they were coming out at a decent hour when all lanes closed down. They came up with a new plan to combat the traffic nightmare and planned an early supper. They managed to exit the freeway at the right spot and traveled a very circuitous route to a nearby Red Lobster for an early meal. They enjoyed a lovely meal of cheddar biscuits, appetizer, dinner and dessert. Exiting the restaurant they could see the traffic debacle had not cleared itself up, so they headed south for an alternate route home. They found FM 1093 and headed west for home. They enjoyed a real blast from the past traveling through places they had not seen in many years. Several hours later they arrived home, road weary, but grateful for the new adventure.
Continued Rain
Muldoon has continued to get rain. Almost every day a little shower has been falling. Some areas get more than others, but little showers have been falling throughout the Muldoon area. This has made the grass grow and keep everything very green for the beginning of July. Temperatures too have been running on the cooler side this year. Humidity has been up with the rain, but overall it has been a much more pleasant summer so far.
Neighborhood Watch
Keep your eyes open as you travel the area. Call on your neighbors to let them know if any odd thing is happening on their place. If we all pull together we can keep Muldoon a safe place to live. Check on the senior citizens in the area to make sure they are staying cool and let them know someone cares about how they are doing.
