Five LG Council Seats Coming Up for Election

The City of La Grange will hold municipal elections on Saturday, May 7. Five council seats are up for election. The filing period for candidates to apply for a place on the ballot opens on Jan. 19.

Four incumbents are up for election next year:

• Kathy Weishuhn for Ward 1

• Violet Zbranek for Ward 2

• Dusty Littrell for Ward 3

• Quenten Gonzalez for Ward 4.

In addition, the City will hold a special election for the other Ward 4 seat held by Chris Jernigan, who was appointed to the Council earlier this year after former Councilman Pat Janca moved out of the City and vacated his seat.

The filing period for candidates to apply for a place on the ballot runs from Jan. 19 to Feb. 22. April 7 is the last day to register to vote in the municipal elections. Early voting starts on April 25 and ends on May 3.
