First Communion Held at Martin Luther Lutheran Church

Five young people of Martin Luther Lutheran Church received their First Holy Communion on Maundy Thursday, April 1.

They were Summer Dooley, daughter of Blake and Amber Dooley; Kooper Kirts, son of Bryan and Shayne Kirts; Christian Pratt, son of Scott Pratt and Amie Jo Smith; Morgan Williams, daughter of Buck and Mia Williams; and Tinley Woodruff, daughter of Al and Lyndell Woodruff.

RT-C School News

Round Top-Carmine High School baseball team plays at Richards April 16 at 4:30 p.m. They play at Burton April 20 at 6:30 p.m.

There will be a modified Kindergarten Roundup on April 21 at the elementary school from 5-6 pm. For more information go to rtcisd.net under the Parent/Student Resources tab. There is also a check off list for the documents needed for enrollment.

Pre-Kindergarten registration is currently underway. These students must be 4 years of age by September 1, 2021 and meet certain criteria. Check the website listed above for more details.

Carmine VFD

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department regular meeting night is April 22.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 16 when the department will sponsor a hamburger drive-thru at the Fire Station. Pick up is from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Advance only tickets will be available soon.

For the annual feast and fundraiser on July 18, they will have a drive-thru fried chicken meal and also a drawing. Watch for more details.

Junior Livestock Show

The Fayette County Junior Livestock Show was held on March 26 in La Grange. There were a number of winners and participants from Martin Luther Lutheran Church and Waldeck Lutheran Church.

They included Brody Dooley-Grand Champion swine and Grand Champion Broilers; Emma Baird-Grand Champion Goat; Bailey Wunderlich-Reserve Champion Cake; Lane Riley-Junior Showmanship-Goat; Summer Dooley-First in Division-Swine; Rylan Stork-Second in Division-Lamb; Reagan Williams-Fifth in Division-Rabbits; Bree Dooley-Ninth in Division-Broilers; Morgan Williams-Fourteenth in Division-Rabbits; and Presley Lange-Fortieth in Division-Rabbits.

MLLC News

Confirmation class meets Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m. Sunday worship with Holy Communion at 10 a.m.

The service will also be on mllccarmine.com. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

Recycling Trailer

The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.

Dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans are accepted. Attendants are available to help unload.

They kindly ask that you please wait to drop off items when they are open. It is very helpful to have the recycled items separated.

The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.

Visitors’ Center

Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2p.m.
