Feed the Need Continues to Provide Food And Fellowship
Feed the Need has been creating community and meeting the needs in La Grange now for six months. They do this by having a hamburger and hot dog cookout every Monday on Mode Lane just across from the entrance to White Rock Park.
They average 14-16 volunteers each week who have a variety of backgrounds and church affiliations. Together they have been serving close to 200 meals per week during the summer months, with pre-summer numbers around 300 meals per week. More important than the number of meals provided to the local community is the impact of prayer, friendship, and discipleship that is occurring at the Feed the Need La Grange site. God is establishing and sustaining real community right here in La Grange.
Everyone is invited to join for good food, fellowship and fun in a Christian environment. Come on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. for site set-up and Table Talk, our weekly devotional, then at 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for serving guests both physically and spiritually.
Feed the Need is a private donation funded charitable organization with operating sites in La Grange, Smithville, Bastrop, and north Texas, with the vision of expanding. The mission is simple: meet people where they are within a small community and provide for them both physically with a meal and spiritually with prayer, friendship, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Everyone is welcome.
Feed the Need missions has an annual gala coming up in September and many other exciting things happening so if you would like to be a part of this community, help by praying, donate to this cause, or if you just want to learn more about it please visit feedtheneed. org or contact the La Grange site coordinator, Jeremy Finch at (979) 966-2812.
