Fayetteville Plans Resiliency Showcase, Open House
The next City Council meeting takes place this Monday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. in the City offices. City Council meetings are held every third Monday of the month.
The City of Fayetteville is inviting residents to an interactive event to see the ideas, priorities and community feedback that tell the story of where Fayetteville is today and where we’re headed.
The “Resilient Communities Program Comprehensive Plan Resiliency Showcase & Open House” is on Monday, Sept. 21 from 4-6 p.m. at Fayetteville City Hall. Find more information on the City of Fayetteville Facebook page.
Museum Receives Gift
Shirley and Jerry Chovanec recently gifted the Fayetteville museum with the iconic store sign and a collection of photos from the beloved Jerry’s General Store, rather than parting with them elsewhere. Lots of memorabilia bringing back great memories are ready to view in the display window and inside the museum.
The museum is open most Saturdays and some Sundays. Visitors can also arrange a private viewing by calling Bob McGowen at (832) 904-6290. Admission is free, though donations are always appreciated.
Fayetteville ISD
A fresh coat of paint and a brand-new floor are breathing life into the old gym at Fayetteville ISD. And a new series entitled Staff Spotlight Q&A has launched as a wonderful way to keep everyone connected. Check out more on the Fayetteville ISD Facebook page.

Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department Fire and EMS Call Report for August: Aug. 13 - Grass fire on Haw Creek Rd. at FM 1291.

Aug. 22 - First responder call to assist Medic 3 and EMS 3 on Vasut Rd. at FM 955.
Aug. 25 - Grass fire on Rek Hill Rd. at State Hwy. 159.
Residents are reminded by Chief Noviskie to please post 911 addresses so first responders can get to your residence.
Hotel Art Opening Night
An opening night reception for “Hotel Art” takes place at the Red & White Gallery this Saturday from 3-6 p.m. This unique collection features original works by Texas artists previously displayed at local properties including the Grand Fayette Hotel, the Red & White Inn, Market Street Inn, The Bird House, Sealy House and the 1850 House.
Mobile Food Pantry
The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church from 10-11 a.m. this Saturday. Drive-thru only. Backseats, trunks and truck beds need to be cleared out to make room for the bags and boxes of food. Volunteers are appreciated.
Community Speaker Series
Taste of Texas owner Nina Hendee will highlight the passion she and husband have for preserving Texas history at the Fayetteville Community Center on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 3 p.m., as part of the Community Speaker Series.
St. Paul Lutheran Church
St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.
St. John the Baptist Catholic Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church is held on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m.
St. Mary Catholic Church St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Sunday’s at 8 a.m.
Fayetteville Brethren
Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
