Fayetteville Brethren Holding Parking Lot Service Saturday
A parking lot service led by Rev. Mike Groseclose will be held at the Fayetteville Brethren Church, located at 1022 Kramr Rd., on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 11 a.m. You’re asked to remain in your car. In-person services will not be held until further notice. Fayetteville Brethren has services the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. The Lighted Cross will be put up the week of Ash Wednesday outside the fellowship hall. The cross will help remind those who pass by of the Lenten season and how blessed we are, for He died that we might be forgiven.
Food Bank Truck
The Central Texas Food Bank truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the junction of FM-1291 and FM-2145 on Friday, Feb. 19 from 10 to 11 a.m. Drive-thru only. Someone will direct traffic. Everyone is being asked to remain in their cars and to make room inside their trunks or truck beds for the prepackaged food boxes. These are placed into each vehicle by volunteers.
The food truck comes to the Waldeck Lutheran Church every third Friday of each month. Next dates: Monday, March 29 (due to holiday), Friday, April 16 and Friday, May 21.

Filing Deadline
Positions are open for office of the Mayor and two city council positions currently being held by Steve Pavlicek (Place II) and Ronald Pflughaupt (Place IV). Mayor Carl Marino is not seeking reelection. Deadline for applications is Friday, Feb. 12. Ash Wednesday Services
Ash Wednesday services will be held at Nelsonville Brethren Church in Bellville at 7 p.m. on Feb. 17. All are invited to attend the fish fry after the service. Plates to go will be available.
Unity of the Brethren

PTC Fish Fry
Fayetteville ISD’s PTC Fish Fry is on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17. The fried fish (cooked on site), mac and cheese, coleslaw, roll and peach cobbler are all prepared by Koopmann Catering. Drive-thru and pick up at the school from 4:30-6 p.m. FISD students are selling tickets. $12.00 per plate.
“Beautiful Beasts” Exhibit
An exhibition of fantasy works by Mary Lou Marks and Jenny Good runs through Feb. 20 in the Ross Gallery at Arts for Rural Texas on the square. Gallery hours: Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. www. artsforruraltexas.org.
