Fayette County Opry Returns Oct. 18 With a Gospel Show

Welcome back to the Fayette County Country Music Opry. After a long break because of the pandemic, The Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, Oct. 18 with a special Gospel Show at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $7.

This month the opry is featuring: Bernard “Nap” Gabler, D’vine Testament, and Wayne Beseda. Bernard “Nap” Gabler started singing as a freshman for school functions at Bishop Forest in Schulenburg. He has enjoyed sitting in with many local bands in the past, both in this area and in Victoria where he has been living since 1985. He has been part of a strictly karaoke group since 2002 and sings in the Victoria area churches, rest homes and country Oprys

Wayne Beseda was born in La Grange and raised in Ellinger. Wayne and his wife Connie have four children, and seven wonderful grandchildren. Wayne spent the first part of his life managing a ranch and currently is the Service Manager at McCourt Equipment. Wayne learned how to play the guitar early in life and then picked it back up about 10 years ago after attending an ACTS retreat. He plays and sings with the choir at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plum every Sunday. He has played for a few other functions throughout the years. He enjoys playing Christian, Country and Christmas music.

D’Vine Testament is a Christian music group who have been performing together since the spring of 2011. All of the members have been involved in music for decades, singing and playing in many different bands. Music ranging from polkas and waltzes, country, and rock, now called “classic” country and rock. Although none of the members had ever played together, the group came to be by some “divine intervention.”
