Fayette County Deputies Make Numerous Arrests

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports Fayette County Deputies made numerous arrests over the weekend.

On Jan. 28, Deputy A.J. Gonzales stopped the driver of a vehicle on I-10 near the 668 milepost for failing to maintain a single lane. During the investigation of the stop Gonzales observed the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in fentanyl and marijuana being located. Arrested and charged with possession was 34-year-old Blas Mireles of Crystal City.

On Jan. 28, Deputy Austin Moore stopped the driver of a vehicle on FM 609 near I-10 for an equipment violation. During the stop Moore observed nervous indicators from the driver and investigated further. A weapon was located in the vehicle and the driver was removed from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in cocaine, hydrocodone medication, and approximately $7,500 in cash. Charged with possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a firearm was 39-yearold Juan Mendoza of Bandera.

On Jan. 29, Deputy Orlando Buitron stopped the driver of a vehicle on State Hwy. 71 for traffic violations. During the stop the odor of marijuana was discovered and a search was conducted. During the search Marijuana and THC oil was located in the vehicle. Arrested and charged was 25-year-old Taylor Garner of Austin.

On Jan. 30, Deputy Austin Moore stopped the driver of a vehicle for an equipment violation near the Flatonia exit. During the stop the odor of marijuana was observed and a searched of the vehicle was conducted. During the search marijuana and THC oil was discovered. Charged with possession was 24-year-old Haronisha Alexander of Houston.
