Famed Author, Belinda Goodrich, to Speak at Next CattleWomen Meeting

The Navidad Valley Cattle-Women (NVCW) are a local chapter of Texas Cattlewomen and have been serving the tricounty area of Fayette, Colorado, and Lavaca counties since 2004. Like any volunteer run organization, encouraging new members is critical to keep the mission alive.

NVCW membership does not require being an active beef producer, though many members are. Some are retired, some are involved through their business, and some simply love beef and are interested in promoting rural living and sustaining the agricultural practices that feed our planet.

The NVCW leadership encourage any ladies interested in learning more about the organization to come to a meeting and check us out. NVCW is a non profit organization that supports and promotes the beef industry. One effort involves supporting local youth with an interest in agriculture with scholarships.

Additionally, CattleWomen provide quality information on the beef industry and how to incorporate beef into a healthy diet to the general public. The local ladies enjoy supporting the community with targeted outreach projects that include a beefy twist.

The next meeting of NVCW will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Oakridge Restaurant in Schulenburg. Dutch treat supper starts at 6 p.m. with a speaker to open the meeting soon after. This month’s guest speaker is famed author, Belinda Goodrich, who will speak about her book, Get It Done: The Simple Process for Finding Harmony by Destroying Your To-Do List, as well as her new life as a rancher in the Moravia area.
