Fall Caused Death of Fayetteville Man Working On Wiring
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Sept. 15 at approximately 5:34 p.m. a 911 call came in from a residence in the 6400 block of Hwy 159 in the Fayetteville area, regarding a male subject that was working on wiring in a home and had fallen off of a ladder onto concrete flooring and was unresponsive.
Fayette County Sgt. Ron Naumann and Deputies Austin Moore and Rick Martell responded, along with two Fayette County EMS units, and the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department.
The male subject, later identified as 51-year-old Mark Gerik, of Fayetteville, succumbed to his injuries on the scene. Justice of the Peace Sheila Coufal was called to the scene where an Inquest was conducted and it was ruled to be an accidental death.
