Faith Lutheran High School Holding Pie Sale Nov. 21

Faith Lutheran High School will be having a pie sale on Sunday, Nov. 21. This is presale only and pick up will be at the Holy Cross picnic grounds. (Same day as the Couple’s Club friend chicken dinner.) Pecan pies are $25 each and Pumpkin pies are $20 each. Cross Country Meet

Faith Lutheran High School will be hosting the Third Annual Private Schools of Central Texas Cross Country Meet on Friday, Nov. 5 for students in K-8th grade. The first race will begin at 2 p.m.

Thanksgiving Celebration

FLHS invites you to join them on Wednesday, Nov. 17 beginning at 10:30 a.m. for their Fifth Annual Thanksgiving Celebration. Rev. Thomas Obersat will be leading the worship service and students will be assisting with music. You are invited to fellowship with them during the pot-luck Thanksgiving Feast Lunch, immediately following the chapel service.

Basketball season started last week at FLHS, more information on their schedule will be coming soon.

FLHS will be hosting a game night for 7th and 8th grade students on Friday, Nov. 12 from 6-9 p.m. at FLHS. There will be lots of food, fun and fellowship. Contact the school to make arrangements to join them.

Everyone is invited to join the weekly Chapel Service held each Wednesday beginning at 10: 30 a.m.

Shadow Days are a great opportunity for prospective students to follow along for a day and experience what FLHS is all about. Parents are invited to call the school at (979) 242-2889 to set up a shadow day for their child.

Holy Cross Couple’s Club

The Holy Cross Couple’s Club will have their annual friend chicken dinner on Sunday Nov. 21. This will be drive thru only at the picnic grounds from 10:30 a.m.-noon. Tickets are $12 and are available at the church office or from any Couple’s Club member. Deadline to get tickets is Monday Nov. 15.

Christmas at Tejas

Tejas Camp and Retreat Center will be open to the public this year for Christmas Dec. 10-12 from 4 p.m.-10 p.m. They are offering packages for $29 a person that will include lights, climbing wall, zip line, crate stacking, three-person swing, bounce house and fireworks. They also have VIP packages available for $43 per person that includes the above activities plus dinner, smores kit, hot chocolate and a DIY craft. Visit www.mytejas.org for more information.

Bible Study

The Bible Study group at Holy Cross meets Wednesday evenings. They will finish up their study on Exodus Nov. 17 and will break until the New Year. Holy Cross Services

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Thanksgiving Eve worship will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m.

Sewing Circle

Ladies, if you are looking for something to do to keep busy during the week, the sewing circle could use your help. If you can cut a square of fabric or trim a postage stamp, they would love to have you join them. The group meets each Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon in the old fellowship hall. They take a break at 10 a.m. and enjoy coffee and snacks while sharing friendly updates on family and friends. Everyone is welcome to join this group. You do not have to be a member of Holy Cross. You can contact Cindy Heselmeyer at cindyhesel@yahoo. com for more information, or just come out and join them on a Thursday morning.

Stamp Collection

The ladies still collect all cancelled postage stamps, these are trimmed from their envelopes and sold to collectors. These can be dropped off at the church office, or in the designated box in the hallway.

Special Anniversary wishes to William and Carol Jurk who celebrated 63 years of marriage on Nov. 1.
