Fair Awards Nearly $10,000 to Local Nonprofits

At the October Fair Membership Meeting, Fair President, Michael Zuhn and Pageant Chairman, Shannon Hemmitt, on behalf of the Fayette County Fair Association awarded nearly $10,000 to three area nonprofit organizations. Ten percent of each queen contestant’s total season pass sales is awarded to the queen sponsor.
Queen Hailey Janish’s sponsor Turtle Wing Foundation, represented by Phyllis Fritsch, was awarded $5,218.50.
1st Runner up Kara Croyle’s sponsor, Flatonia Lions Club, earned $3,097.51 and 2nd Runner Up Ke’Anna Henderson’s sponsor Juneteenth Committee, represented by Walter Culberson, was awarded $1,319.50.
All Fayette County non-profits are urged to begin planning for 2026 and you could earn monies for your organization just as these great groups did this year. Recruitment for Queen contestants begins in March for the 99th annual Fayette County Fair.
