Ellinger VFD Responds to Accidents, Fire

The Ellinger VFD responded to several 911 calls recently. On Jan. 6, the VFD responded to a one vehicle roll over at FM 955 and Schumacher Rd. On Jan. 8, firemen were dispatched to a two vehicle accident at FM 955 and Biegel Rd., and on Jan. 9 at 11:59 p.m. firemen responded to a structure fire on East Fayette St. Luckily there was just a problem with the wood heater.

Mayoral Candidates Sought

The City of Ellinger announces that any Ellinger citizen wishing to run for the office of mayor or commissioner needs to pick up an application in order to be placed on the ballot for election in May. Applications can be obtained from a city representative at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall from 7-10 a.m. on normal business days from Jan. 13 to Feb. 12. The City election will be held on May 1. The next meeting for the City of Ellinger has been scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be at the Ellinger Community Center-Dining Hall. The agenda will be posted at the Ellinger Post Office prior to the meeting.

SLM Council Meeting

The Shared Lutheran Ministry Council will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 5:30 p.m. in Warrenton. The Congregation of Councils will also meet at Warrenton at 6:30 p.m.

Chicken Noodle Soup Lunch

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a chicken noodle soup lunch and bake sale for Sunday, Jan. 31.

School Holidays

La Grange ISD will not hold school on Monday, Jan. 18, in observance of Martin Lutheran King Jr. Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
