Ellinger VFD Attends Training
The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department had training on extrication in La Grange on Saturday, Sept. 12. Several members attended the training.
Tara Pietsch Benefit
There will be a benefit for Tara Pietsch, chondroblastic osteosarcoma cancer survivor, on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall. Doors open at 4 p.m. There will be a live auction (starting at 6:30 p.m.) and silent auction, 50/50 raffle, raffle tickets ($20 each or 3 for $50), and DJ music provided by Latham Staal. The dinner of pulled pork will serve from 4-6 p.m. for $15 a plate and catered by Pietsch Family BBQ. Advanced tickets are preferred. The meal includes pulled pork, green beans, buttered potatoes, pickle and a cookie. There will be a walk up, drive through and dine in line. Shared Lutheran Ministry
Pastor Karen will lead service on Sunday, Sept. 20.
St. John in Ellinger will have their annual roast beef and sausage meal on Sunday, Oct. 11 at the church. The drive through will be from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and plates are $15 each. There will be a bake sale and raffle tickets are currently being sold by all members. Tickets are 10 each or 6 for $50, only 1,000 tickets will be sold and have 15 great prizes. The Communion Milestone Class will be on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 1:30 p.m. for children who are in second grade or older.
The Waldeck Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Waldeck Church on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Brethren Church
Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

The City will meet on Thursday Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
Birthday Celebration
Chris Brugger celebrated his birthday on Monday, Sept. 9 at Schobel’s Restaurant in Columbus with family. All enjoyed the Monday buffet of fried pork, BBQ chicken and sausage and pot pie with all the sides, salads and dessert.
